I cannot get emails to sync either way consistently (sometimes, at all) when using Outlook 2007 on my desktop and Outlook.com. I have deleted and reinstalled the Outlook/Hotmail connector many times, rebooted PC many times and pulled my hair out many
times! - the result is always the same changes to the Outlook 2007 or Outlook.com folder hierarchy/items are not reflected at the other end. This is true even after many hours have passed.
I have set up my domain email account to forward all emails to my Outlook.com account - they arrive okay. By default all mail is received to the junk folder until sender is added to the safe contacts list. No items ever appear in the junk mail folder contained
within the Outlook.com folder within Outlook 2007 - ever! Does this folder not sync?
The Inbox folder rarely updates - never to changes made in Outlook 2007.
Folders or mail items created or copied from my Personal folder to my Outlook.com folder within Outlook 2007 are not made in Outlook.com with more than 5% reliability - if at all. Most of the time it just doesn't happen - even after many hours have elapsed.
On many occasions, when sending/receiving is initiated within Outlook 2007 it gets to 45%(ish) stays there for a random amount of time (could be seconds or many minutes) and then completes with absolutely no changes being made at either end.
Whatever I do (note that I have been a self employed techie for 20+ years!) nothing seems to create a workable solution.
I had avoided using any form of on-line email service to date, preferring to trust the traditional desktop environment as being more secure and reliable and have always advocated this to my clients - it seems with good reason judging by the experiences
of many others in this community. I thought that I'd try my personal email solution first before advising clients to do the same - I'm glad I did because it seems far from the quality of service we have traditionally enjoyed with desktop solutions.
Is anybody able to convince me otherwise?
