Outlook.com Archive Folder

I am using Outlook.com on my iPad, iPhone, PC and Mac.

Recently I moved an email from my Mac Mail app into the Archive folder. On the PC, Mac and on the web based Outlook.com I can see the messages in the Archive folder. However I cannot see them in the Archive folders on the iPhone or iPad.

If I put and email into the Archive folder on my iPad or iPhone it show up on all devices.

Why are some Archive messages missing from my iPad and iPhone?

Is there a difference between an Outlook.com Archive folder and any other Outlook.com folder such as Junk, Drafts, or Sent?

Is there a difference between an Outlook.com Archive folder and any other Outlook.com folder such as Junk, Drafts, or Sent?

 

Also, can I archive/copy/backup my Outlook.com email messages to my local hard drive if I choose to?
