I have OUTLOOK.COM on my mini laptop and OUTLOOK EXPRESS on my desktop. Are they one and the same?
I have recently purchased a laptop with Windows 8.1 and have not as yet been successful in setting it up to receive and send email.  I formerly used Outlook Express.  Is this still available?  If so, how do I connect?
After updating the latest version of Widows 8, my Outlook Express 2003 has a glitch.  For new e-mail, I can select HTML, then when I enter a letter into the "TO" line, I can select a contact.  But, when forwarding e-mail, the contacts will show up but I can't select it. The link seems to not work.  I can still type in addresses, or go to the contacts menu to select recipients.  I'd like it to work like it did before the update last week!

Outlook express will not print my emails properly. it cuts part of info off due to advertising on the right hand side and also will only print one page of a 2 or 3 page document. please help

Microsoft's getting started email reads as below.               BUT WHICH ADD-ON and HOW DO I FIND IT . PLEASE HELP!!!

If you've been using Outlook Express, Windows Mail or Windows Live Mail, you can easily upload your emails and address book to Outlook.com. Once you've uploaded them, you can manage them along with your emails and contacts on Outlook and People web service.

It's easy to get your emails on the cloud. Here are the steps:
  1. Install the add-on. It'll check your email accounts on this PC.
  2. Choose the email account. The add-on will give you a list of accounts on this PC that you can upload emails and contacts from.
  3. Upload your emails and contacts. The add-on will upload your emails and contacts to the cloud.

Honestly I'm about ready to give up on trying to use Outlook.com.   I can't believe it can't do a simple thing like connect to a Yahoo Plus Email Account that Outlook Express 15 years ago could and Live Mail can.  I've read through the other helps and it appears to be a common problem that's been going on for almost a year.

1.) The error I am getting is: We couldn't sign in to your POP3 server. Please make sure your username and password are correct.

2.) The email address (username) does have an underscore in it but I have also tried my other account that does not.

3.) The password only has letters and numbers in it and is between 8 and 12 characters.

4.) My yahoo account is a plus account

5.) As I said I can connect to the account just fine with Windows Live Mail and actually at first tried importing the account and messages from Windows Live Mail.

6.) I have tried both the plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com and pop.mail.yahoo.com for the pop server.

7.) For the username I have tried both the name and the *** Email address is removed for privacy ***

8.) Yes I'm sure the password is correct.

Basic Settings in Outlook.com

Name = my name

email = *** Email address is removed for privacy ***

POP3

Server address = plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com

Port=995

Require a secure connection is checked

Leave messages on server is checked

Username= my_name

Password = 8 to 12 letters

SMTP

Send email using your provider's server (recipient will not see your Outlook address)

Server Address = smtp.mail.yahoo.com

Port = 465

Requires a secure connection (SSL/TLS) is checked

Use the same username and password to send and receive email is checked

I'm trying to migrate emails and contacts from Outlook Express to Outlook via the cloud. I did it for one email address but it's not allowing me to do it for one of my aliases. I've already paid $49 for a consultation at a Microsoft store and they don't know how to do it either. There must be a way to access the alias and transfer the data. I have Windows XP and OE on a desktop PC. Using Outlook via IE on my desktop. Will be importing all stored emails and contacts to my laptop, which has Windows 7. Thank you!
We have a new computer with windows 8. We could not get the mail app to work to access our email. We are able to get our email through the login.live com page. We have the email on the old computer set up through outlook express. How do we transfer the email folders from the old computer to the new computer? How can we sync them both on the new computer or transfer to new computer??.
Just installed Windows 7 and Live Mail converting from Windows XP and Outlook Express.  Imported Outlook Express address book was converted to first name alphabetization.  Want to return to last name alphabetization in Live Mail.
Can't import Outlook express e-mail address, created in Windows XP to Windows Live e-mail address list which is a Windows 8 operating system. Do you have any solutions?
