Windows Live Mail keeps asking for my password.

I am having trouble with Windows Live Mail.  It keeps asking for my password over and over again.  I will close out of Mail on my Windows 7 PC, then try again later and the mail will come down fine.  This is very frustrating.  I have even tried to re-enter my password into the properties tab.  Why does sometimes the mail comes down fine and other times the password screen comes up?  Once the enter your password screen comes up, it will never connect.  Here is the error message:

Unable to send or receive messages for the Windstream account. An incorrect password was entered. The next time you send or receive messages, you'll be asked to enter your user name and password for this account.

password screen wont accept any input; keyboard will not work in password box

i can enter my username, but the password box will not accept any input.  I type y password but nothing gets entered in the box.  this happens w google calendar and yahoo email
