Windows Live Mail FAQ
If I log off Internet Explorer and re-open it later in order to check my email, the system requires me to log in with my email address and password DESPITE checking off to keep me logged in. My email account has been around for a long, long time and until recentlly there was not a problem retaining my information to check email. It's not that it's difficult but it's getting really, really old very, very quickly.
What's the scoop?
I received the following from Microsoft:
"Dear Customer,
Windows Live Hotmail® accounts has been growing really fast.
I have a Windows Live email account that for no known reason became disfunctional for no knowen reason or occurance. I was not able to send or receive messages. [Error id 0x800ccc0e.] I was able to reset the password [I think]. In any event, the program is now able to receive and display new email messages properly. I'm still not able to send any messages. They wind up in the outbox and remain there. Each attempt winds up with "unable to connect with server."
Help would be appreciated.

i recently read a message that was sent to my account dated the 10th november 2012 claiming itself from msn stateing that they deactivating accounts to make space to new members and so they are asking for specific information as of the following:1) Name : 2) Date of Birth : 3) Your Email: 4) Username : 5) Password:
is this a con from another user or is this a legitimate e-mail becoaue when i selected reply the my computer said it didnt no the sender and it could possibly do me more harm then good?
My adult daughter died on November 25, 2009. At that time she had an active hotmail account to which we did not have the password. We did nothing until her friends started receiving spam from that account. I spoke to several people who requested a variety of documentation I was unwilling to send thru the mail and finally talked to a gentleman who agreed to close the account since we were not attempting to find out who was using it.
Was that account opened again? Once again addresses of her friends are being used to send spam from that account. I have the name of the account but since we had had this problem twice I am reluctant to post it on what amounts to a public forum. I would be glad to speak to someone about this on the phone or in private e mails.
What can we do to stop this exceedingly cruel use of an email account? My daughter died almost 3 years ago and I thought this bit of business was done with. I do not care who is using the account nor do I object to the use of the name on a new account. I object to the use of her CONTACT LIST! These were her friends who felt her loss deeply.
