Photo gallery error code 0x80070000

I am not able to open any photo on my computer using windows live photo viewer. Its showing error code 0x80070000. Done all the things told on the post like re-install, uninstall using cmd and reinstall, renaming pictures.pd5 to pictures.pd6

I know this has been discussed before but I have not seen any suggestions which have solved the problem. I have tried everything suggested including repairing windows essentials but STILL get the same error message when trying to open photo gallery. Please help!
