I have been trying to download Photo Gallery alone or w/Movie Maker if I must.  Each time it downloads the entire Essential package.  I am getting an error that it couldn't install 802800006, downloaded file is corrupted and it indicates that I am downloading something else - try again. I'm not downloading anything.  I don't know of another program (free) that imports and has the editing that Photo Gallery software delivers.  Does anybody?

<Windows 7/IE11>

Is there a comprehensive tutorial for Photo Gallery.  I am wasting hours spinning my wheels trying to understand something that should be pretty straight forward and simple.

I want to import my pics from my camera, edit and resize them to certain specified dimensions, save them in a folder to my desktop so that I can upload them to a website for eBay.

Please give me some guidance where I can follow step-by-step instructions in an orderly way.  I am hopelessly lost in trying to conduct my business with photo gallery.  I prefer not to buy adobe or corel but may be forced to do so if I cannot figure out how to work with photo gallery.

Help.  Is it possible to resize a photo, using Photo Gallery,  for use on eBay and other Web sites that require a certain size?  I need photos to conform to certain required sizes.  It appears my options in Photo Gallery are:  smaller, larger and custom (width).  Are these my only options? When I put in new Custom size, nothing seems to change in the photo properties.   New computer, new learning.

Got a series of pics sent to me by email in Adobe Reader format.  I want to move one into Photo Gallery.

If I select the one I want there is no option to "save as", only to copy or print, among a very few other limited options.  I can copy it, and I pasted it into a Word document, but that doesn't help.

Is there a way to move one of the pics into Photo Gallery?  Thanks so much.

I have photo gallery 2012 which I was using successfully on Vista. I've now switched to Windows 8.1. I can import photos from my camera and edit, but when I attempt to close the file or reopen, a message says it can't be opened as it may have been deleted or in a location that's not accessible.

I use Faststone for my photo editing and having live photo gallery is causing confusion/overlap. Can I disable live photo gallery? If not, if I uninstall it and want it back, can I reinstall it for free?

Hi

I recently updated Windows Live Essentials and upon opening Photo Gallery non of my pictures were included. Having included my Pictures folder none of the previous tagged people, places or descriptive tags are there any more.

Why didn't a simple upgrade transfer these details and how do I get them back?

Using Photo Gallery 2012, Build 16.4.3528.331.

Thanks

Alex

Photo Gallery ran perfectly until a week ago.  Now, 99% of the thumbnails have been replaced by 'a pic of an orange marigold broken in 4 pieces' and  I cannot open any of these photos.  The message error says "Photo Gallery cannot open this photo or video.  The file may be unsupported, damaged or corrupted."  I have tried 'system restore' and many other suggestions offered such as

http://support.microsoft.com/mats/windows_photo_and_slideshow_diag/en-us

http://support.microsoft.com/mats/windows_file_and_folder_diag/

I also 'repaired' Windows Essentials.  I have set the default program to Photo Gallery.

None of these actions have corrected the problem.

Can you please help me with this problem?  Many thanks!
