Hi, I have until recently been able to use my hotmail email on my HTC desire android phone. For a few days now I have not been able to receive hotmail emails on my phone (I still receive emails online).

Contacted my service provider- they suggested deleting my hotmail email from my phone and trying to set it up again from the beginning- so I deleted the my hotmail on my phone and tried setting it up again- using the following setup:- email, username and password using POP server: pop3.live.com, security type SSL, server port 995- the problem is I keep getting this message-YOUR INCOMING SERVER DOES NOT SUPPORT SSL- MODIFY YOUR INCOMING SERVER'S SECURITY TYPE.

my phone provider then sent me a SIM update- I read the message, deleted it, turned my phone off, took out the battery, took out the SIM card. Waited- replaced SIM card and battery- waited 5 minutes turned phone on again- tried to set up hotmail on my phone- but still the problem persists and the same message appears.

I have been through this loop several times....

I have also tried setting my hotmail on a friends phone- same problem.

A web search shows other have experienced this problem too- but what is the solution

What's happened microsoft??!! have you changed your server settings by any chance- anyone out there have a solution to this please.

Help recovering emails deleted from Hotmail server that is synced to a POP account

Hi there,

Could you please help me recover and restore all my emails on the Hotmail server? All my emails seem to have been deleted from my Hotmail inbox overnight (it has been less than 24 hours).

I have a Macbook Air and synced my Hotmail via the POP server, and had unfortunately clicked "Do what my other program says-if it says to delete messages, then delete them " in the POP folder options in Hotmail as I thought it would only delete messages that I deleted on my Macbook, not my entire inbox.

There is nothing sitting in my "POP" folder at the moment in the Hotmail server. Could you please urgently assist in recovering and restoring all my emails?
