Windows Live is showing a time out error message.

Unable to send or receive messages for the mail.iinet.net.au account. A time-out occurred while communicating with the server.

Server: 'mail.iinet.net.au'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC19
Protocol: POP3
Port: 110
Secure(SSL): No

I can still send and receive, but since I received a message from the Outlook Team suggesting I change to Outlook.Com, this message has been occurring. It is a nuisance as I can still send and receive.

I have checked with iinet who have completed a test on my server and confirmed that it is performing correctly. They suggest I contact Windows Live to track this fault. Can anyone help me?

I  do not have an Address Book any longer, however when I start to put in a name in the TO some pop up. How can I access the address book for updating adding and deleting

Previous question/answer was for Vista:
Assuming this is a POP3 account, you need to configure both computer email
programs to leave the messages on the server after downloading.
WLM is set to do this by default.
So open Windows Mail on the Vista computer,
click on Tools - accounts - <youraccount> - Properties - Advanced
check "[x] Leave a copy of messages on server"
you should also check "[x] remove from server after xx days"
so the server inbox won't fill up.
OK
There is no Advanced tab on Windows 7 Home Edition.  I need to remove deleted messages from my website email account's server when deleted from WLM email account.  They need to be in sync.  How do I access the rules/instructions on WLM for the server as shown above?

How do I get rid of the pop up adds to the right on my E- mails?
I am using Outlook 2011 and am moving my email accounts from POP to IMAP.  I have thousands of emails and under POP, I liked the fact that I had it configured that when I deleted emails on my laptop, they would still be on the server (as a backup).  Under IMAP, it has brought back ALL of these emails into my Outlook and I am concerned about disk space.

How do I configure Outlook so I can delete and IMAP email on my laptop, have it "removed" from my PC but still leave a copy on the server?

Thanks

when i try to send a picture coming on screen :

A friend of mine wanted to use an Exchange account additionally to his normal profile (POP3 email, calendar etc.) in Outlook 2011.

He said he just added and configured the profile. When he re-openend Outlook 2011 the old profile and all data was lost.

I searched the harddisk, but there's only the "fresh" profile data files of the Main Identity in the Documents/Microsoft User Data folder.

What did happen here? Is there a chance he can recover the data?

Hi there,

I just installed Office for Mac 2011 and succesfully added my 3 email accounts: two gmail accounts and one hotmail account.
I don't need the different folders to be synced (I know that won't work with POP3) but I'd like to have a 'hotmail' inbox folder in the left bar, just like the two 'gmail' folders that were created for my different gmail inboxes.
The strange thing is that under 'Inbox' only 'on my computer', 'gmail' and 'gmail zz' are shown, not a 'hotmail' inbox folder.
Where can I find my hotmail emails? Hope you can help, thanks.

I use the account daily and noticed after running a separate program and coming back to Hotmail (via Chrome) a pop up message saying something about "you must select a message to perform this action" kept repeatedly appearing.  I shut down Chrome and now my inbox is empty.  All files in folders are intact.

It looks like some kind of cleanup was happening but I didn't select this option.  Any help?
