Dear Community Helpers,
Windows live mail were working perfectly on my windows 8.1 till yesterday. Yesterday the program hanged and i force closed and by then it is not opening and keeps Crashing.
Windows Updates are all done and nothing pending.
I Repaired, Uninstall/ Reinstall (with system Restart b4 and after Installing), ran sfc /checknow,
Followed below threads but no use:
Deleted all the stuff in
C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Live and
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files
C:\Program Files\Windows Live
Still no use and no Error code but simple crashes.
Any Help Please
p.s. I ran the Registry Cleaner and CC Cleaner to clear any missing Registry Key and then reinstalled it but still its Crashing
I have a PRX file (Windows Media Profile) that I managed to use successfully with Windows Movie Maker before I switched computers (the old one died).
So now I am using Windows 7 (64bit) and Windows Movie Maker 2012 (v16.4.3508.0205).
I'm sure that there was a special folder I had dropped the PRX file into, but nothing seems to trigger the PRX file loading into the publish/"save movie" dropdown.
The locations I have tried are:
Libraries\Documents (effectively the root of my documents)
C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\Shared\Profiles
C:\Program Files (x86)\Movie Maker\Shared\Profiles
C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Live\Photo Gallery\Video Profiles (movie maker in installed along this path)
I know that the PRX file is still unchanged, so I know that is good... just getting frustrated trying to trigger Movie Maker to recognise it!
I have new windows 8 computer and finally found info on how to download Windows Live Essentials. Download appeared to go well, but It only put the icons for the Photo Gallery and Move Maker modules and not the Mail client or Calendar, on my taskbar.
In my list of program files, I find 2 Windows MAIL sub-folders. One of them is in the folder "Program files/" and the other in in the folder "Program files (x86) /Windows Mail".Windows. Both subfolders contain the same 6 file, 2 are application files and 4 are application extensions. The only difference I can see between the files in the 2 folders is a slight difference in the size of the files.
Then, in the folder "Program files (86) there is a sub folder for Windows LIVE, which has a sub folder for "Contacts" and for "Photo Gallery" and "Installer". The Photo Gallery folder seems to contain the files for "Movie Maker" but nowhere do I see how I an get a start up icon for Contacts, Mail for Calendar.
