I am about to transfer my outlook file to a new mac.  My archive file (archive.pst) is very large about 11 or 12 GB.  I would like to transfer the active outlook.pst to outlook for the mac and to make separate smaller files for the archive files broken up by date.  Does someone have suggestions on doing this?

I have an archive .pst file which I wish to view but do not want to import all its contents into my 2011 Outlook for Mac email file. How can this be done?

Thanks in advance for your help

I recently switched from Microsoft Office Windows 2010 to Microsoft Office for Mac home and business 2011.   I imported my PST files from outlook windows to outlook Mac using the import feature on the office Mac.  I had dragged and dropped the PST file from onto the desktop of the Mac before doing the import.  After doing the import my tasks lost all their formatting.  Bold / highlights / and line spacing all gone.  I can live without the bold and highlights, but my real issue is that I have years worth of information that has lost their line breaks so intead of being organized in a viewable format it is all jumbled together without any line breaks.  I am hoping someone has a solution so that I don’t have to manually fix this, it would take me a VERY long time.  Thanks in advance for your help!

Brand new MacBook Pro with new installation of Office for MAC with all the latest updates.

With Outlook 2003 on my old PC, I had a UNREAD MAIL folder which showed the unread mail and the folders they were in (sent to the folders via a rule.)

How can I replicate this in Outlook 2011?

Note: Outlook .pst file was imported from Outlook 2003 (PC) into Outlook 2011 for Mac

Thanks...Dan

I'm trying to transfer my PC Outlook files to my iMac.

I've saved the pst files on a thumb drive.

The mac does not see the pst files on the thumb drive.  Not even in the finder.  The files are there - I see them when it's plugged into the PC, but not the Mac.  I see other files on the drive through the Mac - it's just not seeing the ones I need.

Any ideas?

My PC outlook is 2003
The PC is Windows XP
Mac is new.
I currently use Outlook 2010 on a PC and would like to use a Mac with Outlook 2011 instead. I understand that it's possible to import my current PST file, that is to say the one with the most recent messages, calendar events, contacts, tasks and memos in it, from the PC to the Mac. However the PC version of Outlook also produces a separate PST file containing archived emails etc, which I would like to keep. Is there a way of importing these into the Mac version of Outlook also, and if so, how can I do it?

I appreciate that Outlook for the Mac does not keep a separate archive, presumably because it's stable enough to perform satisfactorily with one very large PST file. So I'm just trying to establish whether it's possible to deal with the legacy issue of a large archive PST file in the PC version.

i accidentally deleted email from my inbox (thinking it was still junk folder) I was distracted because I was holding on a phone call.  Email is also deleted from "delete" folder.  I deleted the email just recently (about 20 minutes ago, about 10:00 a.m. PST).

Thank you very much

I have just recovered the use of my Outlook for Mac after I reinstalled Lion OS.  I have 3 copies of PST files which show up as contacts.  I made several changes the other day, and when I pulled them up today, the changes weren't there.  How can I merge, or backup these PST files into one Database of contacts?

Thanks for all your help so far.
