Hotmail spell check is not working. It doesn’t give any red lines for even obvious mistakes. What can I do?

My Windows live Hotmail spell check id not working.  When I highlight the contents and press "spell check" button, a comment appears and says " Most browers checks spelling mistakes automatically.  Look for the words flaged with red line......" But it does not give any red line for even obvious mistakes.  I use Firefox as my browser.
