Windows Live Mail will not open. When I checked it appears the program is no longer there.
I tried to download the program, and was unable to do so. Did get an error message 0X80040609.
Googled for a fix, and was instructed to do an uninstall, then try to install it again.
When I tried to do an uninstall nothing seemed to happen, then I got a message that a program was currently running and the install had not been completed, and I a should wait and try again after the current program finishes running. That never happened
after a very long time.
When I rebooted and tried again, same problem. Tried a few more times, same problem.
Then I tried to run the Windows Live Essentials repair program (instead of an uninstall), but the list of versions that could be repaired did not include the Windows 7 version?
Next I tried the suggestion to downloaded wlarp.exe, but when I attempted to run it nothing would happen. When I did a little more checking it seemed that it did not support Windows 7 either?
Can you please help me resolve this problem so that I can try to get my Windows Live Mail account running again? I am running Windows 7 (64bit) with Service Pack 1, and Moxilla Firefox as my browser. I have 3.75 GB open space on my drive. The Windows Live
Mail program was running OK until it seems to have been uninstalled?
Thanks!
Ron
