Question about Outlook Express

My automatic vacation reply shows that it is on.  I did not turn this on and upon researching this issue have seen where it tells you to go to Options under managing your account but it does not give me the option that everyone writes about.  I recently had spam sent out to some of my contacts also so I changed my password but have not figured out how to turn off this automated vaction reply.  How do you turn something off when there is no option to do so?
