Hi,

I keep getting the message when logging into Hotmail that I need to add a security code but I don't receive any security code. I have also checked in my junk but it isn't there. I can skip putting in the code but now I've come to the last time I can skip.

Any help greatly appreciated.


Hi all, I had an account that I was using a bit and logging in everyday and I noticed that Microsoft was asking me to update my security and I had 7 days to but I didn't pay attention which is my fault..... now I think my account has been locked down for safety but I've tried to prove that it is me by using another email but once I send then code that it asks me for it then says this '' As you're trying to access sensitive info, we just want to make sure this is you. To continue, check ro*****@hotmail.com for a message from the Microsoft account team and enter the security code here ''

 

I get no messages at all or emails for another code..... what should I do? please help.

I tried to log in today to my account and it's stating that they need to send a security code to me. The email address they want to send it to is not my email address and it's not even the email address I'm signing into. How do I change it to my actual email address to ensure they have the right one and j get the code?
I have a live.com email account connected to my Lumia phone.

A few days ago I lost access to downloading apps etc. and was  alerted that somebody else was using the account. To verify that the account was mine I was supposed to receive a security code to my alternative email address. It was sent several times but not received in my mailbox.

I created a new outlook.com email account and added it to the phone in Settings. But the phone is still connected to the old account and I don't have access to updates.

So I am stuck: I can't recover the old account becoz I don't get the security code. I want both to recover the old live.com account and connect the phone to the new outlook.com account. How do I do that?

I have two live.com accounts and have been using them without a problem until 2 hours ago, when I was told to verify my account with some security code before further access. I tried clicking on the "Skip" link because I have 6 more days before this account gets locked, but that didn't work. So okay, I chose to send the new code to my alternate email address and that work. My security info was updated. I was then prompted to sign out.

 

Then I realised that it takes about 30 days for my info to be updated. After I was "done", and signed out, I signed in again only to be faced with the same message that on 9/28/2013, my old security info will be deleted and I can verify my account with info I have access to. And there was only a sign out button at the bottom. So..does this mean that I have to wait 30 days before I can have access to my inbox? I can't afford that.

 

Appreciate any assistance.

(PS: I don't use a smartphone so I can't download whatever authentication app that was required in the two-step verification portion.)
