Please help....
I logged into Oulook.com last week and was presented with a screen asking me to provide my security information within 7 days or my account would become blocked. I skipped this for 5 days and then completed it on the 6th day.
It started with the line "Call us overprotective".
I entered an alternate email address and received an email with a security code on it. This security code was required to enable me to gain access to my Outlook account. I got straight into my Outlook account and it is working now. I have now (5 days later) changed my password as well.
The page appeared when i clicked on my usual link from my Favourites in IE9.
Please can somebody tell me if this was a genuine request from Outlook?
I'm more than a little worried that my account may have been hacked!
Thank you for your prompt help
Tony

Last autumn when I was traveling in Germany I was greatly distraught at not being able to access my *** Email address is removed for privacy *** address, which is my primary Hotmail account. What was especially alarming was that two E-mail addresses from hackers who had attacked my account in 2011 had never been deleted from the password reset link and security information, and thus I feared that codes being sent to me for regaining my account were being made accessible to hackers once again. The E-mail addresses for the hackers were *** Email address is removed for privacy *** and *** Email address is removed for privacy ***. HOW WOULD I PROCEED IN HAVING THESE TWO ADDRESSES AS WELL AS *** Email address is removed for privacy *** DELETED TO AVOID FUTURE SECURITY PROBLEMS?
PLEASE ADVISE ME ON THE PROCEDURE FOR CONTACTING MICROSOFT SUPPORT AFTER THE BEGINNING OF SEPTEMBER? WILL ALL OF THE POSTINGS I HAD MADE TO THE FORUM BE DELETED IN SEPTEMBER?
I AM ALSO BEING CONTACTED BY MICROSOFT FOR SECURITY INFORMATION FOR *** Email address is removed for privacy ***, WHICH, ALONG WITH *** Email address is removed for privacy ***, IS ONE OF MY ALTERNATE HOTMAIL ADDRESSES. MY HOME LANDLINE TELEPHONE NUMBER OF 301 725-1502 HAD BEEN ON FILE, AND I ELECTED TO HAVE A CODE SENT TO ME AT THAT NUMBER. I WAS USING A PUBLIC LIBRARY COMPUTER AND HAD TO RETURN HOME TO RETRIEVE THE CODE. IN THE FUTURE I WOULD PREFER TO HAVE MY ALTERNATE HOTMAIL ADDRESSES USED FOR SENDING CODES. PLEASE ADVISE ME HOW I SHOULD PROCEED.
ALSO, IN THE FALL I WILL ONCE AGAIN BE OUT OF THE COUNTRY AND WILL BE ACCESSING MY E-MAIL AT PUBLIC LIBRARY COMPUTERS. WHAT MEASSURES SHOULD I TAKE TO AVOID ANY DIFFICULTY IN ACCESSING MY E-MAIL ACCOUNTS?
Thank you for your attention.

Hi All
Years ago I signed up for Xbox Live using a @sympatico,ca email address. I eventually switched providers and that email address became invalid. Later on I tried to change my information on Xbox Live and could not recall my password. I went through many hoops and never managed to get this accomplished. When I tried to sign on to Xbox Live tonight I was asked to verify my security information and of course was asked for my password to this long forgotten email address (which I also understand is no longer valid for Xbox accounts).
I need help to have this switched to my current email address so I can finally update my information and more importantly, so I don't lose the XP, friends list and immense history I have built over the years using Xbox Live.
Can anyone help me??
Scott
