I have now created a new hotmail account.

I could not log into my previous account as my answer to the security question about my Australian phone number was not recognised. (it did not exist!!!)

MS Help  eventually sent me a new password but I still had to answer the security question about my Australian phone number which still does not exist!!

As I am now logged on via this non-existent phone number I am confused.

I have tried entering my phone number with and without area codes and spaces, also my mobile number but alas Australia is no longer recognised.

MJH Noosa.

i have had my hotmail accuont hacked and the password has been changed. I have tried to reset the password but i cannot remember my security question and the email address it provides as an alternative to send the reset password link to is so old i have no idea what the password is.

Also, the questionnaire it provides as another alternative is no good as i do not remember previous passwords for this account, nor recent emails that have been sent to it,

How can i get in to my account to change the password?

can anybody help please!! :)

When i try to access my hotmail account i am redirected to a "microsoft" page requesting my phone number , alternative email address and other security questions . Is this legit or a scam. still cant access my account
When I start an hotmail session I get this message on my screen: We need to add some security for your account and asks these questions: phone number, alternate email account trusted PC , security question, Mother's birthplace and then "SAVE" Is this legitimate?
When I try signing in to hotmail a Windows Live screen sometimes automatically comes up asking me to add more security details, ie. mobile number, trusted pc, alternative email add, security question.  Is this genuine and, if so, is it just a case of answering one of these rather than all?  I would never respond to an actual email asking for info like this but can only presume as it's an actual page that pops up after signing in that it IS genuine....but you get so wary about anything these days!!
