I have spent hours trying to get a hotmail account to link in to Outlook 2010. It searches for server settings and then I get asked to type in the password in a little Windows Security window. It reappears another 3 times before I get this error code 0x8004103. This is for friends, I connected my own email address to their laptop to check if it was a problem with their outlook, it took seconds. I can log in to outlook.com with their account no problem so the password is correct.
Any ideas? Anything I can do, or is it at the other end?

I cannot send email for all three addresses. The port numbers are the same as on my other system as are all the checked boxes.

Any ideas
It was a wrong address and it's been fixed, but I can't clear the message. It keeps repeating. I'm running under Windows 7. Both the Sent and Outbox folders are empty. I've checked the mail account settings and made sure that the outgoing server requires authentication. What am I missing?
Here's the message (I've blocked out the original address):
The message could not be sent. The setting for your outgoing email [SMTP] server might need to be configured. To find the server settings for *** Email address is removed for privacy ***', please contact your email service provider.
