I run Windows Vista on a Compaq Presario desktop. In the last few months I've begun using the search feature in Outlook to find and group earlier email messages. However, more often than not, after 30-40 seconds I get this message: "There was a problem with
the Outlook service (a temporary network connectivity issue that has nothing to do with your computer). Please try again. If you keep seeing this message, go to Service status to check if there's a problem with Outlook."
Notice that it says it has nothing to do with my computer. However, when I go to Service status, it claims that Outlook is "running normally." Outlook Search is the only place where I encounter this. I do Google searches and download web pages smoothly with
no problems. I can go to previous pages in my inbox and other folders--no problem.
Today I tried it using the Firefox browser instead of my usual Windows Explorer. Same result. I also asked a friend who uses Hotmail (Outlook) if he has the same problem. Yes, he has the identical experience.
Microsoft must be aware of this problem. What is it doing about it? Please give your loyal Outlook users some real information about this.
