I have several users that a working on Macs in a corporate Windows Environment (Exchange Server) all running the latest version of Office Outlook 2011. Some of the Administrative Assistants have been having issues while trying to manage their Bosses shared calendars. Randomly all the color / categories will disappear from the Bosses calendar for both the boss and the assistant. For example all the Travel events will be coded to Red but every couple of weeks the colors are all reset to one default color.

 

Is there a work around or a setting that will keep this from happening? Is it something that the users are doing that causes all of the colors to be erased? I can’t seem to find anything online that speaks to this issue and this is causing End User and IT Support friction but I am not really sure how to resolve it since I can’t even narrow down the cause.  

 

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I successfully shared a calendar between my wife's outlook.com account and mine.

 

However, I discovered that there is a really annoying problem:

 

When she creates an event under the shared calendar, the notification setting is always empty on MY END. That is, at the time of the even (10 minutes before to be exact) she gets the notification of the event and I don't. Is the same if I am the one creating the event. She does not get notification but I am. This is really stupid as you all people sharing a calendar should be notified when the event is due without having to manually add reminder to each event

 

We both have reminder setting set to "calendars on your PC and phone" set to 10 minutes. The person creating the event, receives the notification 10 minutes  as it should. The other person does not..

 

Is like everything is passed between the calendars except for the notification information.  I can create an event in my PC. Open her PC and see that the notification field in her calendar is EMPTY.

 

THis is the very and single reason why I am still using google for my calendar.

hi, we have two macs, one in each office that one user has access to depending which office they are in

 

Office 1 mac you can see anyone's shared calendar, on mac 2 when I open a shared calendar (file, open shared folder) enter the persons calendar name, it finds it in the directory, I click ok

 

then nothing happens after that, there is no entry under shared calendars, nothing, no errors, nothing at all

it is the same office 365 account on each mac, same users, same machine, sames permissions etc

 

what could be wrong with Mac 2 causing this?

I have 6 shared calendars open and with this - I get the spinning beach ball approx every 15 secs and I'm unable to do ANYTHING for around 5 secs. It's rendering Outlook unusable for me.'

I followed some advice in another thread to try and isolate the issue - 5 or 6 steps ranging from deleting preferences .plist files to selectively removing Office-specific files but none of them positively affected the situation. 

I stumbled across the workaround (to remove all shared calendars) after noticing that Outlook was downloading calendar data from most of the calendars very frequently and repetitively (i.e., I can't imagine changes at the frequency that was occurring).

However - I still need access to these shared calendars - so looking for advise on how to resolve this issue.

When I open a few shared calendars, they all come in the same window and you cant tell whose appointments are whose.  Can you change the view like OUtlook 2010

Does anyone know a convenient way to deactivate notifications/reminders for entries within shared calendars (only)?

I only found the option for default reminders which is inconvenient since people would have to manually set it for their own calendar events all the time.

Any advice appreciated.

Hi,

Mu Outlook 2011 shared calendars are not showing. I can use the "open other user's folder" without any error. But on the calendar view, it should appear a Shared Calendars option. 
It seems to be a display error because after adding the remote user's folder(in which I've full permissions) I can do a send email from is account.
Any ideas? On OWA or PC works fine.
