For example, I have keepassdroid installed that handles kbdx files yet Skydrive claims there's no app installed that handles that file type. I can open kbdx files just fine from other file storage solutions like Google Drive so keepassdroid is registering to open kbdx files correctly afaik.

How does Skydrive determine if there's an app for a particular file extension?
Can Skydrive be updated to fix this?
Or is there a workaround that can be applied to apps like keepassdroid?
I have SkyDrive on my office computer (Windows) and my home computer (Mac) to sync all of my files. It works on the Windows computer, and it also worked on my Mac until recently. I chose the settings for starting SkyDrive when I start my computer, but now it doesn't do that anymore. When I try to open SkyDrive from my applications, the little cloud appears at the top of my computer screen only for a few seconds then disappears. It stays gray the whole time instead of turning black. When I try to click on the symbol while it's there for a few seconds, the only options are: "Report a problem," and "Quit SkyDrive." I have tried moving the SkyDrive app to the trash, emptying the trash, restarting the computer, and then reinstalling SkyDrive, but the same problem still occurs. I read forums that suggested this for uninstalling SkyDrive for Mac:

To remove the SkyDrive client from Mac, you first have to unlink the account associated to it then drag the SkyDrive client to "Trash." The unlink account option is in the "Preferences" window:

1. Click on the SkyDrive icon in the status bar (at the top right corner on the screen)
2. Click "Preferences..." to open the preferences window
3. Go to the "About" tab in the preferences window
4. Click "Unlink SkyDrive" at the bottom of the screen
5. A confirmation dialog will pop-up saying that your local SkyDrive folder will stop syncing with the cloud, click "Unlink SkyDrive" to confirm, then drag the SkyDrive client (installer) and folder to the "Trash."

This doesn't help me though, since SkyDrive won't work well enough to show a "Preferences" option. Does anyone have another suggestion for how to solve this problem?
I password-protected an Excel file in one location using office 2010, uploaded to Skydrive and then attempted to open it in another location using office 2007.  Before or after downloading Excel just opens a blank workbook.  I'm repeatedly prompted to "Get Excel" but I have Excel, installed and legal.
Dear Microsoft

I am using skydrive on Surface RT and I have a syncing error with office 2013. Just 4 days ago, I noticed that every time I saved my document, the ribbon bar no longer says uploading to skydrive but rather says word is now saving document. Office also requires me to sign in every single time I open a skydrive document. I thought my account was hacked to I changed my Microsoft account password. Because of this error, my documents are no longer synced with my home desktop computer. Please help me find a solution to this. It was perfectly fine before 4 days ago.

Where do I find my forums when the Outlook.com, SkyDrive category is restructured?

When will Microsoft make it easy to share files on Skydrive? On Dropbox you can view the whole account with a collegue or friend, without having to individually send each file which is time consuming and just daft when you are sitting with someone or trying to have a phone meeting and need to be seeing the same thing. Very dissapointing! Thought Skydrive would be a step up, but it's not! Dropbox much better- when will Microsoft catch up?
I have problem with several files showing up in the uploading section although they are all completely uploaded. Skydrive on Windows 8.1 simply won't complete syncing somehow.
Annoying thing! Everything worked fine on Windows 8 - and now: Boom! Skydrive is creating file duplicates, syncing forever, nothing works... :-(
