Some pre Pre-emptive basic questions about the up coming Win 8 to Win 8.1 upgrade SkyDrive migration path
At present Windows 8 installed and the SkyDrive desktop app installed all works well - I login to windows 8 using a local machine account (Not the Microsoft account) this is how I originally installed windows 8
My worries are, that I gather you have no choice when upgrading to windows 8.1 but to use a Microsoft account -- this is not a problem as I can use existing one used for SkyDrive desktop app.
BUT ? in the process of upgrading and signing in with a Microsoft account is win 8.1 intuitive enough not to junk all files and photos in my present SkyDrive folder being that I would assume it creates another account ?
Would the built in -- integrated SkyDrive sync back down from cloud my files etc. ?
Or sync up none ?
Yes I will do a back up of my present SkyDrive local folders -- but would like to know some answers before possible hours of upload or hassle factor
there seems to be no clear definitive information for people that presently use win 8 and SkyDrive desktop signed in with local pc account
Thanks in advance for any insight from anyone
We are working with a team of 3 people. We will be using Office365. I want to use one skydrive account where all our office files will be stored. We use a lot of folders and subfolders.
Is it possible for every team member to acces thesame skydrive account, work on files and save them again in the right folder?
Thanks for your input.

Hi,
The Skydrive Desktop app is no longer syncing with either of my PCs. Both PCs are connected to the same Microsoft ID. The program returns a "Sorry, there is a problem with the SkyDrive servers. Try again in a few minutes." error message followed by multiple crashes and program restarts. I recently updated the primary account to a new Outlook.com address, which Skydrive did recognize, however it did not "take" my updated password. It was working perfectly before the Hotmail to Outlook transition. However this change may indeed not have anything to do with the "Server Error." This problem presented ~2-3 days ago. I switched accounts 1-2 week ago. Anyone else have this problem? Does anyone know how to resolve it? Thank you.
Best regards.
One of my devices is a Windows tablet with 64gb storage. Of course, a large chunk of that it taken by the OS. The remaining memory, however, has been gobbled up by syncing with SkyDrive (I recently purchased 200gb of SkyDrive storage).
Is there a way to
1. remove these files from the tablet without deleting them from SkyDrive *and*
2. Use SkyDrive on the tablet without syncing the huge files which will render my tablet useless?
Thanks in advance!
Hello,
I want to purchase more space on Skydrive using Paypal. Whenever I do, Skydrive will not accept it. How can this be fixed?
