I decided to copy a few folders of photos by dragging from photo library. After upload was complete the folder was created in Skydrive but was empty. Worse, the original folder in photos library was gone. Skydrive deleted all of the photos and I found them in the Skydrive recycle bin. I restored them but the folder in Skydrive is still empty, and now the recycle bin is as well. Can you please explain how Microsoft's product deleted 250 photos when I was simply copying them from my computer hard drive to Skydrive???

It seems that SkyDrive is built-in and not an app in Windows 8.1.

I have single MS Account, and I use it on this Windows 8.1 Machine for my default login - using the same e-mail address associated with the SkyDrive Account.

On this 8.1 PC though, I have a second account, and I would like to connect to the SAME SkyDrive Account.  When I get the verification code, it does not allow access as the account is already "assigned on this computer".

Any way to do this?

Thank you,

Greg

Since I upgraded to 8.1, my SkyDrive account says SkyDrive can't connect to my computer and the SkyDrive icon does not appear in the notification area. SkyDrive however appears in File Explorer and I can access my SkyDrive folders normally. How do I fix this?

When I go to my Skydrive I do not see any of my files or folders.

Across the top of Skydrive, where the files and folders should be a message is displayed -Sorry, something went wrong. Please try again. If you keep seeing this message, go to Service status to check if there's a problem with SkyDrive

I check the Service Status and it tells me that everything is OK

When I try to create a new document of any type I get a similar message...  -Sorry, Something went wrong   Try again-

Any Idea whats up...

NOTE:  For version I put Widows 8.1   but its the same for XP, 7, 8 ,8.1

My Skydrive is not synced on my laptop. The files are up to date on my desktop. The Skydrive icon is missing from the taskbar, when I go to check on taskbar options it says Skydrive is signing in?? Help please

Okay, I've read the posts etc but wish to commence my very own question.  Skydrive has sync'd with my PC (Windows 7)  for the very first time a few weeks ago. I use it daily but it is a frustration that the smallest change e.g. text in a word document takes far too long to look for changes & sync and takes up massive processing time leading to system slowdown. This is also the issue on PC reboot, e.g. when Skydrive is looking for changes.

What gives me the opinion that sync takes far too long......well my experience with other competitor storage programs is better. I am a windows phone user, PC and Laptop and would very much like to stick with Skydrive but MS, please can you resolve the issue that when SD is looking for changes that it intuitively knows where to look and sync faster.

Please advise.

Hi, copied files from external hard disk to Skydrive folder. This included files which were too large. and they were flagged. I removed those files from the Skydrive folders but the flags remain. Rebooting and/or refresh screen does not remove them.
Thx,
Gilbert

Hi,

I have updated to Windows 8.1 and didn't know in advance that SkyDrive was the default location for documents. So when I imported my back-up data it was sent to SkyDrive which caused me some panic as I didn't see the files in Documents. I then cut the files from SkyDrive to Documents not realising that they were being uploaded to the server. This has created an error message which I cannot remove. It says: Files can't be uploaded because there's a problem with a file or folder.

My SkyDrive is uploading now I've worked out how things work, but I cannot remove the error message. There's a file associated with the message, but I removed it from my computer as it was not needed and I cannot restore it as it has been recycled and removed from my external hard drive in the mistaken belief that it was causing the problem.

What I want to ensure is that my SkyDrive files will be uploaded and downloaded to an from my computer. I also have a Windows phone and my photos are uploaded to SkyDrive and I want to access the camera roll.

How can I remove the error message and proceed ensuring that it all works without problems?
