Hi,

We are using outlook.com as the front end for our emails, i.e. we have setup an account to send and receive emails through our provider's SMTP and POP3 servers.

The problem is that we are finding that some emails are bouncing back with the error as below.

Why is this happening and how can we stop it?

I am trying to send an email from Outlook.com.  Every time I try to send a message it gets bounce back.  The message I'm getting is:

Reporting-MTA: dns;col0-wss1-s5.col0.hotmail.com
Received-From-MTA: dns;COL402-EAS167
Arrival-Date: Tue, 13 Aug 2013 18:15:52 -0700

. Type=1 (-956218626:896:-2147418113)

This is happening even if I'm sending an email to myself on the same account.  It happens whether I try to send using the webmail or Outlook 2013.  I don't understand how authentication failed when I'm logged onto the site.  I don't know if it matters, but I'm using a personal domain for my login/email address.
