Hi - can anyone tell me if it's possible to change the default screen to Calender (not Inbox) when starting up Outlook?

I am running: Microsoft Outlook for Mac 2011
Version: 14.2.5

on:

Mac OSX 10.7.5 on a mac mini 2.5GHz intel Core i5

Is there way to customize Outlook for Macintosh 2011 so that it displays in a smart folder at start up?

I know this option is available in the WIndows version.
Just installed Mountain Lion. When I startup Outlook (Office 2011 for Mac), it connects to the server but it drops connection to Exchange Server after  few seconds to minutes. Keeps asking me to reenter my userid and pw.  After a couple of these events, my account is then locked on the server.  I have rebuilt the database twice, Shut down computer, reset the Parameter Ram.  An interesting issue is that I am running Parallels on my computer and Outlook on the PC side works perfectly. I am frustrated and about to reinstall OS10.6.8.  Any help out there would be appreciated

Even if I've set a start and end time for an Out Of Office message to be sent, every time I start up Outlook while I'm on vacation, the silly "Out of Office messages are still on.  Do you want to turn them off?" dialog.  If I have Outlook open for some long amount of time (hours, not days), the dialog again pops up.  The problem is, many automated tasks (my spam filter, updating the items badge in the dock, &c.) do not work while the popup dialog is present.

Is there a way to disable this popup dialog "feature"?  I don't want the Out Of Office message off... that's why I set a start and end time!!
Suddenly when I click on Outlook in the Dock (or in Safari) the startup window flashes then disappears.

Worked fine previously.

All the other Office for MAC apps work fine.

I tried to re-install latest Office update and get the message "Office 2011 14.2.3 Update can't be installed on this disk (or any other on my machine!). A version of the software required to install this update was not found on this (or any other!) volume."

Appreciate any suggestions.
