I've been a Hotmail user for many years and am frustrated. I stopped receiving emails a few days ago. It seems I've exceeded my storage limit. 1) How can I upgrade to more storage so this won't happen, or , if I'm at the storage limit, 2) How do I move message to archive to free up space?
John

I was looking at SkyDrive Groups and noticed the storage limitation.

Now it is really annoying that there is a limit of 1GB, but that is not my question. I wonder how this is even calculated. I mean I have my personal folders on SkyDrive that I can select to share with my group. Does that mean they stop counting on my storage or ... ?

So What is counted and what is not. Does it matter who added it or where it came from. Are emails counted too towards the storage limit or not.

Just trying to understand how it is even possible to separate the storage that I bought and paid for on my account and that of the group which by the looks of it is stored in the same place :-)

Looking forward to a good explanation.

All files wiped. Bur also my storage limit has decreased from 25 Gb to 7 Gb.

How can I get this restored?

Hello,

Outlook.com says I exceeded my storage limit of 5120MB.  I archived all my old emails and I am still having a problem.  When I send messages it says "your message was sent but not placed in your sent folders because you have exceeded your storage limit.  I archived almost everything and I'm still having problems.  Please help.

Thanks
I think the sent mails folder in outlook is an excellent tool in case i ever need to prove i did actually send it. Now with two factor authentication its somewhat unlikely someone else would do this as well unless they have access to my cellphone but i was just checking it and i saw there's about 859 mails stored, that's 25 pages dating back to 10/2009

Since its impossible to edit emails or the sent-to address other than completely deleting it for the list this might , i always hope it will never be needed, come in handy at some point in spacetime. I suppose for business use this would be common practice even to keep proof of all communication for a set number of days at least. I wouldnt mind if this were indefinite or until storage limit but i cant figure out. I have no idea when exactly the account was opened but i think it dates back further than the last sent email i can find in there.

Now i doubt that i will have to prove anything legally ever dating back four years except the fact that my life was quite different maybe but i was wondering if anyone knows the maximum amount in storage or how this works, is there a set number thats kept is there a set number of pages, does it go back to x days before present. Can it be expanded, can i still get access to mails sent from before that date IF necessary.

anyone ?

Original Title: Over the limit notice!

There is a notice that I've exceeded my storage limit.  I removed out of my SkyDrive file on my computer by enough to correct the problem but the changes do no show up in Skydrive.com.  Will this eventually happen by it's self?  Thanks!!

how to increase storage limit in outlook.com

How do I see how much storage space my emails are using?  (and how much is allowed for free web based accts?) Before the change to Outlook, you could be in hotmail, then go to Manage folders to see how much space was used by each folder as well as overall...but that option no longer exists.
