Windows Live Mail… Strange Marks Like "don’t" In Email To or From Me Replacing "apostrophe (‘)" Mark??

I figure I have upset something in Windows Live Mail because just about all apostrophe marks (') are being replaced by "’"...like the word "don’t", for example?  I can type it here "don't" but it ends up "don’t" at some point when I view mail I send or receive and I don't know why.  Something is amiss!  Help please.
