Why is my outlook.com account saying I have too many folders.  When I delete one, it still does not let me add another.  Is it true we can have unlimited subfolders, if true it ios not working on my account.  Please help me microsoft dudes!

I have about 100 folders, every now and then I must hit a wrong key and I notice that the immediate folder underneath the folder I am working from becomes an indented subfolder of the one above it.

How do I un-indent that new subfolder back to just a regular folder in ABC order like all the rest?

There are subfolders I want to get rid of.The email service just did that.
Hello,

After switching my hotmail name to outlook.com and making it my primary email I have lost all of my email subfolders! This seems to be quite a common problem as there are a number of similar threads online describing the same problem.  In particular, after switching names all of my inbox emails remain but all of my subfolders have disappeared.  This as you can imagine is very frustrating and unexpected so any help would greatly appreciated!  Therefore, can someone please walk me through the steps to fix this?

Also, I tried renaming back to hotmail but nothing appeared.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi everypne,
Using latest WindowsLiveMail on a Win7_64bit system. I have numerous
eMail addresses installed, mainly IMAP, but also an @live.at eMail
address.
In this  live eMail address i have numerous folders + subfolders;
as i understand, the @live addresses use a sync protocol of their own
that differs from IMAP (MS calls it DeltaSync).

This @live eMail address is all in all installed on 3 computers and
most of the time the syncing of the folders/subfolders works fine.

However, every month or so the following phenomenon happens in
WindowsLiveMail:

sending/receiving eMails works fine and *at first glance* the
subfolders of the @live address seem to be there, but they are all
muddled up:
some folder names are present but the SUBFOLDERS are gone (not showing
up).
Double-pressing F5 to resync everything does not change anything.

When using the webmailer to look into the @live address, all the
folders/subfolders are correctly there.

So my only workaround when this error happens:
1. remove the account in WLM
2. set database compression to 1, set "work offline", log out of
WindowsLive, close WLM to let the database compress properly, re-open
WLM.
3. Re-install the @live eMail account and wait until everything syncs;
the deltasync protocol does its work and all folders/subfolders
reappear.

However .......... not very convenient, does anyone know of a better
solution?

We are thinking of implementing Skydrive pro for our remote users , is there a limit to how many folders and subfolders that can be created in an account?

TIA,

We have a a Motorola Droid that displays Inbox, Sent, Outbox, Trash, but no subfolders I created.  Verizon told us that, while Motorola's system will not display Hotmail folders, Samsung's will.  It's important to me that I can access subfolders.  We're about to purchase new phones and I;d like to verify whether this is true.  Are there certain cells where Hotmail's app allows viewing subfolders or is this a pervasive problem with the Hotmail app?  Thanks!!
I have been using Outlook for many years. At the present time, I have over 40,000 emails stored in Outlook (about 20 GB).
These emails are stored in subfolders and sub-subfolders of Outlook PST.

As emails come in, I either delete them or if they are important and are part of one of jobs, which have a folder or sub folder, I move them from Inbox to a subfolder or sub-subfolder or even a sub-sub-subfolder of Outlook PST.

I have been afraid to archive these emails because of my fear that when I need to restore and find old emails on one of the more than 200 subjects, I will not be able to restore the emails back to the same subfolders and sub-subfolders.

Is there some way to archive, where the emails will be archived in the sub or sub subfolder they are presently stored in?

Techies-

I use Outlook 2013 IMAP

A few weeks ago, I organized all of the emails in my inbox into particular subfolders. However, now all of the subfolders and emails are missing under the inbox.  I can still see the subfolders as an option when I try to MOVE an email from the inbox; however, every time I select a subfolder I created to move the email to,  I get an error message that reads "This folder is not available".

Any ideas here?

These are important emails.

Thanks!
