Hi everyone,

Outlook.com looks cool but ironically Mac users that purchased and use Outlook2011 as email client don’t stand a chance to have a decent email service.

Here’s the deal: i do have Outlook.com configured as IMAP in order to keep messages in sync on more devices.

Email messages hit my inbox (using Outlook2011 for Mac) with a few minutes delay; according to an Outlook.com employee this happens because their service does support IMAP but does not support IMAP IDLE extension which allow real time fetching of email messages.

Apparently the guys in Redmond were able to offer real time fetching and/or active sync capabilities to all major email clients available on the market but not to MS Outlook for Mac.

I would kindly like to know if there is any workaround on Outlook2011 for Mac to have Outlook.com as IMAP and real time fetching.

And if there is any plan in sight to update Outlook2011 to provide full EAS capability.

Thanks

Do @hotmail.com addresses, ugraded to outlook.com view support IMAP.

This question is following your last weeks anouncement that

IMAP is now supported in @outlook.com addresses plus I believe in @live.com addresses.

With @hotmail.com addresses here I am not talking about Active Sync and

Exchange etc.

Thanks.
