Every time I try to start SkyDrive in windows 8.1 it does this: It creates a new SkyDrive folder. No files are ever synced with the cloude store.

  • Q: are you sign in on your 8.1 SkyDrive using your Microsoft account?

    A:yes

  • Q: Can you confirm if the SkyDrive Sync Engine continues to run and doesn’t continue to crash?  Go to Task Manager and ensure "Sky Drive Sync Engine Host" process is running.

    A: No

  • Q: Can you confirm if the SkyDrive app is giving an error message? To check it, just launch the SkyDrive app and look for errors at the top right corner of the screen.  Top right corner error is a link that opens the “Progress” view page.

A: No error message. Only the message: There are no files or folders in this view.

  • Q: Have you tried uploading some files via web SkyDrive? Are they synching down to your computer?

A: Nothing is downloaded to computer

  • Q: Any SkyDrive icon in Windows system tray you can  Right click on to choose Settings?

    A: No

  • Q: Confirm that the SkyDrive Sync Engine continues to run and doesn’t continue to crash. Go to Task Manager, ensure "Sky Drive Sync Engine Host" process is running.

A: I do not have the sky drive sync engine host process running and I also have been unable to sync Skydrive. Is there a way to fix this?

  • Q: When viewing through the SkyDrive Desktop (File explorer view): Click on the SkyDrive node and look for any icons that indicate errors (i.e., yellow triage, red x). If there’s an error icon, look for the error at the bottom of the file explorer window, or right click on the SkyDrive, and then select View error which opens the modern SkyDrive app "Progress" view page.

A: I can’t se any icons at all. Directory is empty

  • Q: can you please confirm what is your operating system?

    A: Windwos Pro 8.1

  • Q: Can you provide the *.etl logfile in %localappdata%\Microsoft\Windows\SkyDrive\logs ??? to figure out what is wrong?

    A:

After successfully upgrade to Windows 8.1 from a native Windows 8 (which Skydrive app worked just fine) some files cannot be sync. All files are on the same folder but some of them (.wmv and .ppt extensions) keep trying to sync since two days ago. There are in this folder other files of same extension but they sync, even if a new folder is created and the file moved into it. There is any troubleshooting that can be applied on this case?

My contacts don't appear to be syncing properly in a number of ways:

  1. I've linked my LinkedIn account to my Outlook.com account. There are some LinkedIn contacts that don't synchronize with Outlook.com (most do sync). Why would certain contacts not sync?
  2. When syncing with Windows 8.1 Pro, there are some contacts that don't sync with the People app. The same contacts sync just fine with my Windows Phone and other devices (Android, iPhone, etc). Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance.

My calendar and contacts in my Outlook 2013 syncs to my Samsung Galaxy S4 but when I put a contact in my phone it won't sync to my desktop
I keep getting this message when sync begins, even when I have deleted these files (the entire folder for that matter) weeks ago.
This prevents my skydrive from fully finishing the sync process.

I already uninstalled and installed again the app.

When I install the skydrive desktop app it syncs with no problems but the next time I turn on my laptop it doesn't sync and I can't see any way to log in. The icon then doesn't appear in the toolbar though I have customised it so that it should show. The folder is present but it is very much an offline folder. The only way I have currently found to make it sync is to uninstall and reinstall it. Obviously this is annoying and impractical. What would you suggest?
Thanks

How to auto sync outlook.com email and Outlook 2010?  Currently I'm only able to do it manually, that's if I REMEMBER to do it; thus the reason for an auto sync.  I've set my Microsoft Outlook 2010 to sync every minute, which it does, however, I cannot sync the other direction meaning if I go to outlook.com to see any emails I've sent, deleted, received, etc. in Microsoft Outlook 2010 I can only see them if I manually refresh or sync it.   I'd like my emails to auto sync both directions.

I have two accounts set up in Windows Live Mail.  Both sync just fine from home, one syncs just fine from work.  The other one gives the error:

Unable to send or receive messages for the xxx account.

Server Error: 0x800488EB
Server: 'https://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800488EB

Now, this is where it gets interesting.  If I get off the work network and onto an open network and do a sync (which works), then get back on the work network, that account syncs properly from the work network for just about exactly 24 hours, then stops again.

I have done the remove/re-add thing, and there is no change.  Note that this started up on its own one day after having worked fine for many years.

One thing I've noticed that's probably related is that, in Properties-Server-Server URL, the account that works looks for:

http://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/sync.aspx

While the account that doesn't work looks for:

https://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/sync.aspx

Note the secure URL in the one that doesn't work.

It turns out this is happening to others in our organization as well, but like with me not on all accounts.

I'd like to fix this either by finding what to change in the account properties or by white-listing something in our cyber-security system so that it doesn't happen for these accounts.

Thank you.

Dear Microsoft,

Recently I've noticed that my skydrive no longer syncs my files and the reason is that skydrive crashes after less than a minute from start-up.

In the end of the logfile "FRED.dev=0.2013-10-08.0137.5680-1.log".

I see the following:
