Outlook 2011. Mountain Lion.
When I answer people with the email as text message (no HTML),
sometimes people receive the text with strange characters.
So I have applied the following instruction read in this forum:

"Manually setting the Text Encoding to UTF-8 (Format -> Text Encoding -> Unicode (UTF-8) does indeed "fix" the problem".

BUT, every time I compose e new message I must apply that? Outlook doesn't remember this settings?
Thanks

I would like to get a text message notifying me that I have a new email in my Hotmail inbox. I do not have a smartphone. I cannot find any place in the options where I can set this up.
I received a text message proporting to be Microsoft giving me a password reset 7 digit code.   I also received a "Twitter" reset request in my hotmail account. Since I never requested a password reset and do not have a twitter account, what is going on?
I'm running Mac Outlook 2011 (with all updates applied) on Mountain Lion, on a new MacBook Air. When replying to a text message, I type something like "I'm" and after hitting the spacebar, the word turns into "I'M" and the cursor goes somewhere out of the message. This happens elsewhere too in the text if I fix the aforementioned text. I did not have this problem before Mt Lion or with my previous 2nd generation MBA.

Anyone else seeing this problem? And if so, how did you resolve it?

I can’t get the option of getting Text Reminders when adding new event even though I added my mobile number successfully and my number is listed in “Devices” as “xxx's phone (xxxxx) Verified phone number”. I also set SMS services for Hotmail and Messenger alerts successfully and have the “Get text message notifications (reminders and changes to calendars)” in the Calendar option ticked. All this set correctly, but I still can’t get the option of a Text Message Reminder listed among other sorts of reminders (Email, Messenger, etc.). Lastly, I removed my mobile number and re-added it again to see if this could solve the problem, but no success. Any help on how to sort out this problem will be much appreciated.

I have been sent a text message from Windows Live and have changed my password and entered the code they sent to me.  The message said to sign in to your website to complete the process. I have the support ticket number that you sent to me. What do I do on your website to be on target?
