Files wont show in slide show

So I am making a slide show with JPEG images, Like I have many times.  No audio.  I put the images in the area where they are suppose to be, but the slide show viewer is Blank.  

I have restarted the program.  Saved it first.  Not saved it first. Rebooted the computer.  Re loaded MS essentials/Movie maker.  resized the images. added audio (audio played....but still blank.

I am so frustrated...what can I do?  what have I done?  

I know in the past when I added images there was a timer telling me the images were uploading...and that took time.  This is not showing a timer any longer??>
