Several of my friends/family members got email messages from my Hotmail account that weren't sent by me.  When I heard about this I immediately logged into Hotmail to change my password, which I was able to do.  I also set up two factor authentication at that time.

While in my email account, I checked the sent messages folder and I found no evidence that messages had been sent.  However I did find in both my inbox and junk mail folder messages that had bounced with a 'mail delivery failed' message due to a message being sent to an email address that was no longer valid.

At least one of the messages was sent after I changed my password and set up two factor authentication (SMS to my mobile).  How is this possible and how can it be fixed??

Thanks

David

I think the sent mails folder in outlook is an excellent tool in case i ever need to prove i did actually send it. Now with two factor authentication its somewhat unlikely someone else would do this as well unless they have access to my cellphone but i was just checking it and i saw there's about 859 mails stored, that's 25 pages dating back to 10/2009

Since its impossible to edit emails or the sent-to address other than completely deleting it for the list this might , i always hope it will never be needed, come in handy at some point in spacetime. I suppose for business use this would be common practice even to keep proof of all communication for a set number of days at least. I wouldnt mind if this were indefinite or until storage limit but i cant figure out. I have no idea when exactly the account was opened but i think it dates back further than the last sent email i can find in there.

Now i doubt that i will have to prove anything legally ever dating back four years except the fact that my life was quite different maybe but i was wondering if anyone knows the maximum amount in storage or how this works, is there a set number thats kept is there a set number of pages, does it go back to x days before present. Can it be expanded, can i still get access to mails sent from before that date IF necessary.

anyone ?
Hey team

I recently configured two factor authentication for my microsoft account.

I was wondering if this automatically makes my skydive two factor secure?

Reason being.. I am still using SkyDrive and it hasn't asked me to authenticate.

Also, do I need to connect my Microsoft Account with Skype in order for two factor authentication to work for skype? (And.. will it work with Skype for Windows Desktop? (NOT the windows 8 app))?

Thanks for any tips
I added two-factor authentication to my Windows (outlook.com) account. Since then, files opened from my desktop SkyDrive synced folder won't upload when saving. Any suggestions?

(I have the desktop (not- Metro) skydrive app installed. I have a folder (\users\me\SkyDrive) on which my files are stores. I open an Excel file (users\me\SkyDrive\file.xlsx) in Excel. I save from Excel and close. I am signed into Windows 8 with my outlook.com account. I am signed into Excel with my outlook.com account. I am singed into skyDrive with my outlook.com account. However the file won't upload, and I get the error in the 'Microsoft Office Upload Center'. Which is weird as I am saving my my c:\ drive, which is synced with Skydrive. So, skydrive should sync it, not MS Office.

I am at a loss. I can't sing out of MS Office, as I signed into Windows 8 with my outlook.com account. I don't want to de-link my windows 8 with my computer, as I like the syncing function. Hrm...
The windows phone app Authenticator, can't pair with my account, every time  i try to pair, always shows

That code didn't work. Check the code and try again.

I have this problem a couple of days ago, but with the device paired, now i reset the pair, and can't pair again, even if i put manually the secret key.

I tried to clean the cache
