Having problem today with viewing messages in 'Inbox'. Everything okay yesterday, and switched on as normal today. 'Inbox' says that I have 4 messages, but am unable to read / they haven't downloaded onto the 'message' board. All previous messages are still accessible / displayed.

I have reviewed internet connections and security and all seem to be working correctly.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Regards

Original title: Outlook inbox problem

Icon on my ipad says that there is 5 unread messages, and there isn't.  Also how do unflag messages
How do I delete these unread messages

My Inbox shows 2 unread messages. I have no messages.

Happens on every computer I've used.

Happens on every browser I've used.

Cleared all cache and settings, still happens.

No hidden messages, no rules, no flagged messages.

I've ready and followed about a dozen different responses on this board and see no resolution yet.

As from today, my online maillive.com  Hotmail messages appear to be arriving in Outlook as 'read' .
They are no longer highlighted and not showing as new messages in brackets as they used to.

What's gone wrong and how can I reinstate the bold type for unread messages? I need to see unread messages at a glance.
I am running Windows 8 with Microsoft Outlook 2013, and have installed all of the latest updates for both.

My Outlook 2013 is connected to my Outlook.com account (*** Email address is removed for privacy ***) using Exchange ActiveSync.

The synchronization between Outlook 2013 and Outlook.com is utterly broken for me, and I can't figure out why.  Is it just my account, or are other people having this same issue?

If I read a message using Outlook.com first (and mark it as "read"), then when I go to Outlook 2013, the message does not come down.  All my unread messages do come down, but not my read messages.  Then, if I go back to Outlook.com and manually mark all my messages as unread, then go back to Outlook 2013, it pulls down duplicates of all my messages!!  What is going on?

As you can see, my inbox shows (and has shown for months) 56 unread messages, when in fact there are none. I've used different browsers, different computers, cleared cookies and cache, etc. This is not a client-side issue.

This issue persists on the web version, but the mobile version does not display any such unread count.

Anyone have any ideas?

EDIT: Further, while trying to post this question on Chrome, it persistently tells me that I haven't filled out all of the fields and won't let me post.
Outlook.com is one of the most poorly designed Microsoft sites I've ever seen. Again, this is an issue that persists on multiple systems and after clearing cookies, cache, etc.
Having recently re-installed Windows Live Mail after using Mozilla Firefox for a couple of years, I find over 800 unread messages listed which I can neither access nor delete. Some are 2 years old. Can anyone help please?
on the left side like u all know it says inbox and in bold it says 4- meaning they are unread messages. I DO NOT have any unread messages in any folders anywhere. this number 4 will not go away. I have cleared the cookies and cache and deleted browsing history but the problem persists.... why is this going on.... it wont go away. I am using internet explorer.
Trying to figure out how to change the font size and color for all unread messages in MS Office for Mac 2011. Thanks!
I'm using a MacBook Pro OS X 10.6.8, and Outlook 14.2.2

The unread message counter on my deleted items folder shows 5 more unread messages than are present. Consequently if my unread messages folder has 10 unread mails in it, the counter shows 15.

Even more irritatingly, when I empty the deleted items folder, the counter still shows 5

Is there any way to reset this counter?
Is there a configuration file which stores this number, which can be edited and therefore reset?

This is pretty minor in the grand scheme of things, but any help on this would be appreciated.

Thanks.
