My inbox (Outlook 2011 for Mac) is displaying 3 unread messages, but they do not appear to actually exist. I have cleared all Filters from my inbox, to no avail. I have also done an Advanced Search for emails with an Unread Status, but the emails do not appear in the search results there either. I have checked all sub-folders of my Inbox, and the messages are not there either.

Any idea what might be going on? I am using an Exchange server, and I have seen other users talk about possible sync issues in certain Exchange scenarios, but I have no idea if that might be my problem.

Thanks!

I'm using Windows 7,  IE 9,  WLM is v.15 something,  but completely updated.  I suddenly realized my Unread Messages in the upper left folder has disappeared,  and clicking on Quick Views shows a grayed out first line ,  checked,  that doesn't allow me to restore it!  I have researched as much as possible,  so here I am,  asking for help in the place I can count on!  Thanks in advance.

outlook for Mac deleted folder shows unread messages but these are not in the folder, they are not visible
I also have 2 messages shown as unread in the junk folder, and these too are not visible
I have tried all the suggested routines: clear folder etc. but they still remain shown as unread messages in the folders
I am using Windows Live Mail desktop, Version 2011 (Build 15.4.3555.0308.
It shows one unread message in the inbox but I can't find it. How do I temporarily change the settings so it shows only unread messages?
I know this is not hotmail but every time I searched it sent me here.
Thanks

My inbox shows the number 1 in the unread messages for Tuesday of this week, but there is no unread message ? It's annoying. Help?
‏ I rebuilt the main identity with no success. Seeking further advice and assistance. Thank you.
The Deleted Items folder is indeed empty. I am running version 14.2.3 which was installed today, July 12, 2012. This problem started today prior to the update installation.
