Hi all,

I currently get my emails from an exchange server. I have configured both Apple mail and outlook 2011 to both use the exchange account.

Currently everything sits on the exchange server.

What I'd like to do is archive everything to my local machines drive so that I can review it all at leisure. Also it will allow me to delete all the messages and folders on the exchange server and therefore free up space.

Is there a way I can do this in either or both of the programmes without having to manually drag each email onto a folder on the desktop for instance?

Many thanks in advance.

I recently migrated to a new laptop and imported my old Outlook 6 messages to Windows Mail Live. I then compacted. I was able to use Windows Live normally, send and receive messages, etc., for about a day. The next time I closed Windows Mail Live, it started a process showing a box that says "Making a backup copy of the current database . . ."

That was 2.5 days ago. It still says it is backing up, the disk is still running constantly, the computer is slow, and I cannot open Windows Mail Live to access my messages.

I have a good-sized email database (about 10G in Outlook 6), but I am concerned that (a) something is wrong, and the backup will never finish, or (b) it could be days or weeks before it finishes and I am again able to access my messages via Windows Live Mail.

Can I safely stop the back-up process? Is it normal for it to take so long? (I have a 7200 disk, and a three-month old Dell XPS15 with 8G RAM, so I doubt it is a speed-of-hardware issue.) Also, how can I set settings so that backups in the future are less long or done less frequently?

I am using Windows 7 Home Premium. Windows Mail Live updated as of October 1, 2012. Dell XPS15 laptop.

Thanks in advance.

Since the new format, I am unable to click on the "group" and be able to manage/add/remove names.  I need that feature as the group I "use" changes often.  We used to be able to easily see who was currently in the group as they were checked off on our main contact list.   I hope you can help with this...*** Email address is removed for privacy ***
Several people have shared their calendars with me. However, they do not share their default calendar, but secondary one's for organizational/business use. I can open default calendars fine, but if they only share their secondary calendars, I cannot open them in Outlook for Mac. They are sharing from Windows Outlook 2010.

How can I open these shared calendars without the other user needing to share their default calendar as well?
I do not like Hotmail and wish to discontinue it's use.  Do I need to cancel or uninstall anything?  Or should I just stop using it?
need to reinstall sync. using win xp wsp3 and ie8. need to reinstall
We run Windows 7 on our Dell computer and use Microsoft Windows Live.  I would like to be able to access my Live email from a remote computer, but do not know how.  The computer and the Live was set up for us by another person and we are not aware of any sign-ons or passwords to allow us remote access.  Sorry not very computer literate.
