I keep getting Error Code 179900.

Outlook then prompts me with:

The server for account "Packres" returned the error "[SYS/TEMP] (#AUTH701) Service is not available; please try again later.." Your username/password or security settings may be incorrect. Would you like to try re-entering your password?

I enter the password and Outlook keeps giving me the same error and prompt to reenter my password.

The email account is a Yahoo POP business mail account.

I have no problems accessing my account via my phone and tablet, or via yahoo.com.

I checked for updates, and all updates are up to date.

Any ideas?

I have been blogging at blogspot via WLW since five years. Had to delete my hardrive and all programs, and now I cant log in to WLW! It says wrong username/password sometimes and sometimes that it cant find my blog.

Ive tried for more than a week, all the usernames/passwords Ive been having since 2009 and nothing. I tried to reinstall WLW twice too.

I really need to get access to my WLW. I need to reset my username/password but there is no such feature/reset button/help.

The only thing I can find is how to export my blogspot blog to wordpress, but I really dont want to do that!

Please help!

Hello, I reformatted my hard drive, installed WLM, configured my account ok but it isn't working.

It says I have an incorrect username/password but I haven't.

I can use Outlook ok.

The window keeps coming up asking for username/password over and over and I fill it in but no, doesn't start my account.

The window actually says WLM is synchronizing the account and to wait but it's been like that since yesterday,

I sent myself an email but it's in the outbox still.

The error code I get is: 80048821

If I use manual configuration, please explain the exact codes I need.

I have no idea what to put in for the settings.

In other posts, moderators say check your email server for settings, but YOU are my email server and haven't found the correct manual settings anywhere (if manually will work?)

Runnin IMac with Mavericks and MS Office 2011 for Mac. Cannot get the hotmail account in Outlook to work. I have deleted the POP account and readded wtih out success.

     I have an email address @homecall.co.uk with live. Worked for lots of years 'till the computer crashed. Windows OS was reinstalled. From then on my @homecall.co.uk address required verifying via an email sent to homecall.co.uk. It was ages before I realised the mail was going to the very old address at Pipex which I did not have the username/password for.
I tried lots of things many times before realising where the verification email was going but eventually created an alias live mail in the live homecall.co.uk account thinking the verification would go there and I could open it. I also assumed the address book would contain all my addresses. No such luck. So I made the new alias the primary address with no luck there either.
Now I found the secondary address which is the homecall.co.uk would not become the primary address until it was verified and when I try to sign in with it I am informed it doesn't exist. Stalemate.
Eureka! My partner discovers the very old Pipex username/password and we can access the homecall.co.uk account where the verification emails have been going so I send another one, click on the link and it takes me to a sign in page. I try signing in with the homecall address but it tells me no such account exists. I can sign in with my live primary alias and my homecall secondary alias is there still with the verify request. I try copying the link into the address bar with the same result. Have tried quite a few times and have even waited 24 and 48 hours with a hope something would happen. No luck there.

I continually get an error message from Outlook:

The server for xxxxx returned the error 'Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password.' Your username/password or security settings may be incorrect. Would you like to try re-entering your password?

This happens generally when i leave the machine and the screensaver starts, or when I open Outlook for the first time each day.
If I select 'Yes', the machine refuses my passwords, if I select 'No' the machine starts fetching emails again as if nothing has happened.
Clearly there isn't a problem with the names, passwords or security settings. This is another issue
I have set up the accounts in every possible way according to the various instructions and other information from other people's problems.
My Exchange account is not affected.
This is beginning to make me mad. Every time I leave the machine for more than a few minutes I have to clear the error messages on three email accounts.


Yesterday somehow I received emails in my Live account from my Hotmail account on my phone, that had been deleted. I went to delete them and I was unable to in either account. I then deleted both accounts from my phone and added the Hotmail account first with no problem and them tried to add the Live account. It's been 24 hours and I'm still receiving the error message "Authentication Failed - Please verify your username/password". So I logged into my Live account using my desktop with no problem. What do I need to do to get this account added to my personal mobile device again?
I was sending mail through Outlook 11 on my me.com account without any problems until last week. I didn't change any settings, but I am now getting the following error message:

The server for account "Me" returned the error "5.7.8 Bad username or password (Authentication failed).." Your username/password or security settings may be incorrect. Would you like to try re-entering your password?

It can't be a username/password problem as I receive mail just fine.

Mail is sending from this account on my phone without any problems. I've also tried creating the account in mail and it sends from there with no problems either.
