I'm one of the many having difficulties with the SMS verification. I don't ever receive the verification codes via Text. I am able to receive them by alternate email address or phone call, but these are much less convenient.

I could not log on to my hotmail account unless I entered another email address or a mobile no to which a security code could be sent. I received a security code within seconds, could you please confirm that microsoft sent this...thank you
I have successfully completed the SMS verification yet additional features are not unlocked. I have been using the account for months, this was a 10 year old Hotmail account. Opened several cases with MS only to have them closed with zero resolution.
How do I get support? It is like you do not want me to use your services.
My account was hacked on February 20th after I clicked a bad link in an email from a friend.
For the past 6 months, I have been trying to recover my account. I have completed the Account Password Recovery verification form several times, and each time I received an email back saying they are unable to verify my identity. There is very little information on the verification from that I can enter. For example, I've had the account for 10 years, with the same password, so its impossible for me to recall what password I may have used over a decade ago. I do not have any credit card information linked to the account to use to verify my identity either. Whats more, the last emails I have sent were over 6 months ago so I have no way of knowing what the hackers have been sending out recently. I have been emailing several customer support representatives about this, and ALL have told me I have to complete the Account Password Recovery verification form, or they cannot help me otherwise. I have even posted in this community before and received the same response.
The worst part is, I am not even allowed to delete the account!! So someone else has access to my account which is linked to (and has been linked to) my work, bank accounts, social media etc. accounts for years. Can someone PLEASE HELP me either recover this account or delete it? The thought of someone else accessing my account with all of my personal information is extremely unsettling. I am sure if I could speak to someone on the phone, my account could be easily verified. There must be another way to access my own account of over 10 years. PLEASE HELP!!!!
I've used the Google Authenticator app to set up two-step verification for my Outlook.com email account. Everything works fine. However, I'm wondering what I will do if I ever lose my phone. Pretty much every other service that uses two-step verification
provides a backup code during enrollment which can be used in case of a lost phone or other emergency. Does Microsoft offer this? If not, what is the contingency plan in case of a lost phone or lack of access to the authentication app?
I don't particularly need or want verification or two-step security for my hotmail account. I've had this account for over a decade and have not had a single problem regarding hacking or spamming. I travel a LOT and do not want SMS or any level of verification associated with my email account whenever I sign in via an internet café or other location with a 'non-trusted' computer. Please, can I totally opt out of this process?
I will agree to a waiver that any unauthorised activity on my account is my sole responsibility and absolve Microsoft and its subsidiaries of any/all legal responsibilities if that's what it takes.
I just want a simple email service. Please, Microsoft.

I tried creating a new email account on outlook.com. Everything went well, up until the point where microsoft informed me they were going to send a verification email. The problem is that they're sending the email to the new account and I can't actually verify it from that inbox, because they won't let me get to it. I can't seem to find another way to verify that the account belongs to me either, so I don't know what to do.
I was not asked to give an alternate email address, so that's really the problem.

My son can't access his account. We've tried the verification process but it says he's not providing enough information. He can't remember the last emails he sent (he uses the account to receive emails but doesn't often need to reply) and none of the other
questions apply.
Now it says his account is blocked. Argh!
What do we do? The process is automated and there's no link on how to speak to an actual person about this.
For some reason my account says that it has been hacked and now is blocked. I have tried many times to access my account through the verification form but none of them are going through, and the unblock code goes to a random email address that I do not have, I have also tried to change my password which I can change but when I try to log back in it still says that my account has been hacked.
I have to access this account since February and nothing at all has worked!! Ireally need access to it for business reasons.
How go about unblocking it?
I am stuck on this screen with my *** Email address is removed for privacy *** account and can not get into my e-mails. This problem started last Thursday, August 8 with the 2 step verification process, which is a royal PIA. I never set up this verification process, and have had trouble ever since. Please help!
