As Live Movie Maker cannot be made to work for more than a few moments on my laptop I have downloaded Movie Maker 2012 but get a message saying my pc may not meet system requirements or video cards may be out of date.

My machine relevent details are:

Windows 7 Professional 32-bit

Memory : 4.00 (2.93 usable)

Processor : 2.53 Ghz

Browser : IE 8.0

Photo Gallery and Windows Media Player are installed

which all seem to match or are above the requirements stated in various answers.

I have looked at a number of video card help pages and am thoroughly confused.

My processor is Intel(R) Core(TM)i5 CPU

DirectX version : DirectX 11

DDI version : 10

Which, if any, of these parameters is not suitable for Movie Maker 12?  If the video card needs updating please point me to a specific site telling me exactly which card to install.

I have created a nice slide show and now want to insert a short video clip.  When I import it (mpg) into the project it will play the audio but without the video.  I've checked the video card and it's ok, then I ran FIXIT and found no issues.  then I downloaded and ran MediaInfo.  When I looked at the TEXT view I couldn't see any references to CODEXs.

Any ideas on what I might do next?
