Whenever I import a video into Movie Maker, the audio plays but the preview screen is black. I have tried updating my video card drivers, and they're all up to date. I installed the latest version of Movie Maker which is the 2012 version. Looking at some previous discussions- http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windowslive/forum/moviemaker-program/movie-maker-2012-black-screen-on-playback/b653d015-e0d4-4426-bd50-471b71abdad4 , I tried installing the 2011 version but it's still the same. I have been facing this problem for quite some time. Anyone can help me?

Good Evening,

I've been online for hours and I must say i'm surprised I've not found a solution to a common reoccurring issue I was running a windows movie maker from 2010 and it was doing well until I wanted to remove the audio content. No problem I thought and I upgraded to 2012 Essential. Well I got the audio but not without a small price. All the videos containing Xbox one content I've edited and updated to my skydrive is not able to be transcoded. For a minute it shows up and tries to get itself together then the first message was a WLXTrancode.exe just-in-time error then I would debug and get the the final error containing the code 0x87160129.

Before we move on my video card drivers are up to date and I've repaired the widows movie maker from the control panel. My videos play fine on my media player (so no codec issue). Its not a chunking problem because in content where I've integrated video's a small section about 2 secs long of video gameplay is unable to be viewed. All I get is caution signs. Oh and I have the video saved both on my skydrive and on my desktop.

Please help.
