I finished editing my project and would like to save it as a video, but I keep receiving error messages: 0x87260103 and 0x87160139. I've looked up several forum posts about the same issue, but /none/ of the suggested steps have helped. Please help!!

Here are the details: I recorded a bunch of clips (.mov) on my Nikon D5100 DSLR camera in HD and was chopping them up to create a video. I took some photos too (.jpg) and added some music that I purchased online (.mp3). All of the video/photo content is saved on the SD card from the camera (I forgot to transfer it over to my computer before I started, but it's too late at this point), but I haven't removed or ejected or even touched the SD card since I put it into the computer. When I go to save the file as a completed video, it fails to complete and gives me one of the two above error messages. There are no ! signs on any of the clips. I tried starting a test project file using just one clip I recorded with my camera with no editing (I took it straight from the SD card like in the original project and didn't save it to my computer first). The file saved successfully in HD. What the heck am I doing wrong?? Someone please help! I've worked so hard on this, and I don't want to have to start over.

Thanks,

C

I have two versions, different artists, of the same song, both are about 4.5 minutes long. I have about 4.5 minutes of unrelated video and want to begin the video using one artist's version of the music and end the video with the other artist's version. The first would phase out as the second phases in without missing a beat or having a clumsy obvious transition from one artist to the other. The end result would be to have 4.5 minutes of video beginning with one musical version, ending with the second musical version with a smooth transition somewhere in the middle.

I've made a video on Movie Maker cutting a 2 hour long video down to 1 hour 40 min.  I had a few random errors during this process saying the file was corrupt during the saving process but after lowering the Kbps down every time I save the video (by lowering, I mean creating a custom setting and constantly testing and changing) until I finally finished saving the video as I was playing a game of SC2 online.  I then later made a edit to this video and was able to re-save it under the same settings which were

1920x1080

5400 kbps (55 would always crash and say the file is corrupt)

29.97 fps

128 44.1 audio

THESE SETTINGS WORKED

Now on to my current problem.  However the story I'm providing above is relevant so anyone answering knows I'm fully able to edit a long video under my current codec setting, wmm version, graphics card drivers and everything else.  Essentially I'm saying I want a real answer to this problem because I know it's working.

My current issue revolves around making a 1 hour 40 min video out of a 3 hour long video.  I spent a few days editing the video and saving the WMM project file.  But not a single setting is working no matter if I lower the resolution to 720p and lower the Kbps to 3500.

I have concluded that WMM is UNABLE to edit longer videos AT ALL.  So of course I would need to cut the original video in half in order to edit it.  But the problem is that I spent so much time investing into editing inside WMM and that WMM makes a unique project type out of the file that can't be imported into anything else, I'm stuck with finishing this video in this software.

Is there anyway to fix this issue I'm having so I can properly get a video from this?  Or is this software that ghetto that it just literally cannot handle professional work?  The windows movie maker error reporting is so lazy and vague, no one has any idea how to troubleshoot this software.  I know what the problem is, I found the flaws in this software.  But why can't the software give me options or work arounds?  Let alone this website?  It took me countless failed searched to even get a option to submit a question here.  There are so many complaints about this software's error messaging with so much generic junior surface level support that it's unacceptable Microsofts name banded it.  Please advise this question to a top level intellectual with real answers or some sort of patch to this software.

I have been using Movie Maker in conjunction with FRAPS to create videos to post on Youtube. Previously, up until around a month ago, I simply recorded the video with FRAPS, imported the file into Movie Maker, and edited the video very easily. However, I started up Movie Maker today to begin messing around with some videos, and now when I try to bring up a video from FRAPS into Movie Maker, it just shows up as a gray box with a yellow tri-angle in the middle. When I double click the box, a pop up box appears and asks "Do you want to remove " " from the project? The file might be corrupted or in a format that Movie Maker doesn't recognize. This movie can't be saved or published until " " is removed from the project. Error: 0x87260103." This happens on any video recorded with FRAPS that I try to put into Movie Maker. Any suggestions as to how to fix this issue? The operating system is Windows 7 64-bit.

I have a great video of my friend wiping out on his skis.  His wipeout starts at 1:30 and goes until the end of the video at 1:36 (6 seconds later). I'm trying to put the last part of the video in slow motion (of course :), but I'm having 2 problems.

1. it won't let me split the video close to the end (I only want to slow mo the last 6 seconds, but it is making me split at least about 10 seconds)

2. If I do try to split is sooner...like at 1:20, it cuts off the last several seconds of the video (in other words, the split video is only 1:27 long instead of the original 1:36...which is horrible since I'm losing the best part of the video.

Please help!  Thanks in advance :)

Greetings friends.
I recently upgraded to Windows 7 (I know, I am behind the times) and hence, downloaded the updated version of Windows Movie Maker.
After I finish editing a video, I then attempt to publish the video.
I have tried to publish the video to youtube or my computer and it seems to go well, but when I watch the uploaded video on youtube or my computer there is no video, just the audio.
I downloaded the live upload to youtube plug-in, but it has not helped.
I generally use the recommended resolution settings for my videos, but I have also tried every other resolution setting but it does not change anything.
I can preview the video just fine in movie maker, the video only disappears after publishing or saving.
I am fairly well acquainted with the Vista version of Movie Maker, and never had problems like this.
I am severely confused and my brain will surely detonate at any moment.

I plead for assistance.
I do not want to lose my brain.

Not only on movie maker, i really have no sound at all. But, if i restart, i can hear what i just recorded and its all fine. the problem is, its a bit hard to work like this. i have to restart everytime i record a new audio file. What can i do ?
