I've made a video on Movie Maker cutting a 2 hour long video down to 1 hour 40 min. I had a few random errors during this process saying the file was corrupt during the saving process but after lowering the Kbps down every time I save the video (by lowering, I mean creating a custom setting and constantly testing and changing) until I finally finished saving the video as I was playing a game of SC2 online. I then later made a edit to this video and was able to re-save it under the same settings which were
1920x1080
5400 kbps (55 would always crash and say the file is corrupt)
29.97 fps
128 44.1 audio
THESE SETTINGS WORKED
Now on to my current problem. However the story I'm providing above is relevant so anyone answering knows I'm fully able to edit a long video under my current codec setting, wmm version, graphics card drivers and everything else. Essentially I'm saying I want a real answer to this problem because I know it's working.
My current issue revolves around making a 1 hour 40 min video out of a 3 hour long video. I spent a few days editing the video and saving the WMM project file. But not a single setting is working no matter if I lower the resolution to 720p and lower the Kbps to 3500.
I have concluded that WMM is UNABLE to edit longer videos AT ALL. So of course I would need to cut the original video in half in order to edit it. But the problem is that I spent so much time investing into editing inside WMM and that WMM makes a unique project type out of the file that can't be imported into anything else, I'm stuck with finishing this video in this software.
Is there anyway to fix this issue I'm having so I can properly get a video from this? Or is this software that ghetto that it just literally cannot handle professional work? The windows movie maker error reporting is so lazy and vague, no one has any idea how to troubleshoot this software. I know what the problem is, I found the flaws in this software. But why can't the software give me options or work arounds? Let alone this website? It took me countless failed searched to even get a option to submit a question here. There are so many complaints about this software's error messaging with so much generic junior surface level support that it's unacceptable Microsofts name banded it. Please advise this question to a top level intellectual with real answers or some sort of patch to this software.
I have a great video of my friend wiping out on his skis. His wipeout starts at 1:30 and goes until the end of the video at 1:36 (6 seconds later). I'm trying to put the last part of the video in slow motion (of course :), but I'm having 2 problems.
1. it won't let me split the video close to the end (I only want to slow mo the last 6 seconds, but it is making me split at least about 10 seconds)
2. If I do try to split is sooner...like at 1:20, it cuts off the last several seconds of the video (in other words, the split video is only 1:27 long instead of the original 1:36...which is horrible since I'm losing the best part of the video.
Please help! Thanks in advance :)
