My wife and I have identical laptop computers, connected to the same Virgin Media SuperHub router, and we both use Windows Live Mail, with identical settings (I have checked, and there is no difference in the settings). However, my wife's mail program has suddenly stopped allowing her to send emails, though my own computer has no such problem.

How can this have happened, with two identical set-ups, and how do we cure my wife's problem?

This is the error message she receives when trying to send mail:

The message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's email address. The sender's email address was '*** Email address is removed for privacy ***'.

Subject 'Test message'

Server Response: 555 Invalid email address.

Server: 'smtp.ntlworld.com'

Consequently, I have sent this message on her behalf, since she is unable to send it herself!

Any suggestions, anyone?

I've used Virgin Media email for 4+ years, and gmail for nearly 2 years. I have recently left Virgin broadband and they have told me I would lose access to my stored emails after 60/90 days. I would like to transfer these to a USB hard drive and have told I need a program like Windows Live to do this. I have been trying to link my gmail account to Windows Live without success - frankly I've forgotten how to do it! I have checked in setting/forwarding & POP/IMAP that POP and IMAP are enabled. I'm getting error messages 0x800CCC0D and 0x800CCC92. Most of the solutions seem to involve downloading software which scans your computer and tells you there are hundreds of errors etc.; which I don't trust. Can someone point me to a set of instructions which will walk me through the setup of linking my gmail to Windows Live Mail? Thanks in advance.
I have followed the instructions on the Virgin website and on my Outlook 2013.  Once I have put in all the information, changed the advanced settings, enabled IMAP, Outlook says that it cannot find my email address.  I have done this about 15 times, rechecking my sign in by signing into my account via Virgin; the address and password I am inputting is correct.  I've logged out of Virgin when I do it, I've rebooted and that's as far as my IT knowledge goes.  I'm hoping I have missed something simple (this would seen likely!) and that some one can point me in the right direction.

Thank you,

Sam.
I keep getting this error but i've checked and these are the details I use to sign in to my Virgin Media account directly: please help

The server for account "Virginmedia" returned the error "Invalid credentials a48if487168eem.268." Your username/password or security settings may be incorrect. Would you like to try re-entering your password?

I access my virgin media e'mails through Windows Live Mail.
I am not able to delete these messages (and some of them are spam)
Message is saying IMAP{ provider is not allowing me to delete them.
I have over 10000 messages which are undeletable.
Virgin Media will only help if they are accessed through Outlook express

I use Windows Live email via Virgin Media. I have tried to set up a Windows Live ID but keep getting a message that says there is a temporary fault. When I go into Windows Live Mail now I get a screen asking for my Windows Live email address and password but end up in a loop going nowhere. I can use the Windows Live email ok apart from the fact that my Contacts have disappeared. I want to get rid of the screen that asks for my email address and password as I did not have to do this before I tried to set up the Live ID. Help!
