I had been using Windows Live Mail 2011 for many years. It was part of a package, I think, called Windows Essentials (included Family Safety, Writer, etc.) Last month I had to reset my pc to factory settings.  Now, I cannot find Windows Live Mail 2011. In fact, I am seeing information that is saying Microsoft is no longer allowing its use. Of course I have the current Outlook.com, and I am aware that it can now accept multiple email programs (as I had with Mail 2011).  Can I have the additional Mail program or Live Mail with Windows Vista now? Where do I download it or do I just need to set Windows Mail as the default program on Vista now? Will everything from Mail Live 2011 integrate/transfer to a current Mail program? I really want that same look and format as Windows Mail 2011.
I have Windows Live Mail installed in Windows 8.1 and three POP email addresses. Recently, three times, all my additional folders have mysteriously disappeared along with all my emails. Most of the emails from the last few months then reappear unopened in the three Inbox's. However many important emails that were saved in the vanished folders seem to have gone forever! This problem has only occurred since I upgraded from Windows 8 to 8.1. and I have used Live Mail for several years before without any problems. Is Live Mail not compatible with Windows 8.1? If not what do you recommend? Please help!! - Guy.

I have installed (uninstalled and reinstalled) Windows Essentials and I have had several problems.  I cannot seem to get the email to consistently send mail from my AOL and Gmail accounts using Windows Live email?

I have tried to change the ports for outgoing messages but that has not worked.  Also, have repeatedly gone in to repair Windows Essentials.

Now I find out I cannot print any email messages directly from the individual AOL or Gmail accounts?  I have tested the printer and it is working from using other sources.

I have Windows 8.1 operating system.

Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

When I download windows essentials and click install everything.....a the usual install window opens and tells me everything is installed? How can that be if I haven't downloaded it before? I am using a Toshiba Satellite laptop less than 4 months old  with win 8.1. When I do a search for movie maker.....zilch, zero, nothing! I have downloaded essentials three times and still it isn't there. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thank you.

So my Dad has got Windows Live Mail and I thought I'd bag the same, then I can help him.

I go to http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-live/essentials-other#essentials=overviewother and click on download.

Then after clicking on the set up file, bugger all. The program just sits there with its progress bar going up and down. Any ideas or will it get ignored like all the other support options...

Running Windows 8.1 and 64bit.

Not a good start really.

I am beside myself with this issue and request help from the Community.

I have a client running Windows 7 - he uses Windows Essentials 2011 - the email part of it as an email client.

For no reason at all it suddenly will not place messages received in the Inbox. The messages flashes for a brief moment as if it is being placed in the inbox then disappears from sight. Its not in the Junk folder and its not in the deleted items folder. Its NOWHERE !

I have tried:

Restoring the system to an earlier date.

Repairing Live Essentials using the Repair Utility.

Uninstalling and resinstalling the program.

Deleting the users inbox using Windows Explorer and drilling down to the store folder.

Deleting the account and recreating the account.

ANY and ALL assistance is greatly appreciated.

Thank you

I've tried installing just the movie maker and the whole windows essentials package, but neither have worked.  I get an error 0x800b010e and it says it is unable to download.  I have windows 7, and have checked that I have met the minimum requirements, even deleted old files to make sure that there is not a space issue, but to no avail.  None of the help pages say what to do with this error, so I don't know what is wrong that is preventing the program from downloading.
