I was unable to add a name to my Windows Live contacts. I read an entry that said I should update Windows Live to get around this problem. When I tried to do so, the "Update" was not available to me, only the uninstall. Upon further reading, it sounded like this would be the way to do this, so I uninstalled Windows Essentials (including Mail, obviously). I assumed (stupidly, admittedly) that the reinstall would reconnect with all my former files and folders and contacts. Now I'm unable to download and install Live at all. I get messages stating that an install is already in progress, I get error message 0X80040607, and I am panicking that I've totally lost all my e-mail on Live -- even though I'm sure it's still on my computer somewhere. Please tell me how I can just get back to the point I was when I started all this. Being unable to update a contact seems like a trivial thing at this point... HELP???!!! I've seen some entries about deleting Live folders via a CMD uninstall, but I would like to ensure that if any of my e-mails/contact info/etc. are still on my disk, I can access them... Please tell me all is not lost.
I am unable to reinstall Windows Live Mail (Error: 0x80040609 Source: Contacts) even after uninstalling all Windows Essentials components (from Control Panel or with "cmd" as was suggested in earlier posts. [running Win7 x64, AMD 11 x6 and 12GB RAM].
I have tried about all the suggestions on this site relating to Live Mail reinstall issues, including uninstalled and reinstalled Microsoft.NET 4.5.1 and running the “cmd sfc /scannnow” reported all files were OK. I’ve checked Firewall status, etc., and even resorted to uninstalling MSE . (And now also am unable to reinstall that MS antivirus program as well!! Scary! ) HOWEVER, I could successfully install AVAST antivirus to restore protection of my system ~ and also been able to install and use other ‘registry’ and ‘junk’ cleaners’ (which were suggested elsewhere in this forum). Still nothing will allow the install of either the Windows Live Mail ~ or the entire package of Windows Essentials (or Microsoft Security Essentials!)! I MUCH prefer the Windows Live I've used for years for my email and want it back ~ Outlook is a desktop space hog . Thanks for your help! :-)
Q1 Using Windows Essentials Photo Galley on Windows 8 how does one create a 'mirror' image of an existing photo?
I have made a copy of a couple of photos, which I want to create a 'mirror' image of, then merge the two photos, the original and the 'mirror' in one?
e.g left hand side of a persons face in one, looking at the 'right' hand side of a persons face in the other,( in fact its the 'left') then merge the two into one?
Question 2
How can one 'manually' fuse two 'identical' photos into one, if Photo Gallery is not able to do so?
E.g. an original and a 'mirror' created by way of Paint: Rotate-Horizontal
I am able to sign in successfully to my Windows Live e-mail via Outlook on the web....but can's seem to access Windows Live Mail etc through Windows Essentials programs. I get a message that my e-mail or password is incorrect and is not recognized. How can I fix this problem? I would like to use Windows Live Mail to access e-mail on my PC.
I have had this problem for months, and have had to use gmail to access all my emails aside from my msn which I can get on my phone with Outlook app and online through Outlook. I also cannot sign into the Live Family Safety so I cannot access my kids accounts. I am trying the repair suggestion now, although I already uninstalled the older Live Essentials and installed the 2012, but still could not sign into Live from my computer. I will update whether this works or not.
Split from an old thread
I had a problem with Windows Live Movie Maker (started sometime in the past 4 days) that made it so I could not upload videos to YouTube. When I tried, it would say: Error: 0x80004005. I then decided to re-install the program. I deleted the program, the downloaded it off the Microsoft website. The download client said that a few programs did not install properly, including Windows Live Movie Maker. An installation details window came up and said: Windows essentials did not install properly. I clicked the 'Try Again' option, but the same thing happened. What should I do to fix Windows Live Movie Maker?
