the ribbon submenus will not open in windows live mail 2012

Hello,  I am running Windows lLive Mail 2012, and for some reason, the sub-menus on the ribbon tabs will not open for me. When I try to open one of them, it comes back and and says something like "Insert Sub Menu Button Pressed", but I cannot get any thing to actually open it  to view the options available. I am running Windows 8.1 and Windows Live Essentials 2012. HOw can I get the ribbon sub menus to open? Any help will be appreciated.  Thanks in advance.  Travannah

Just installed latest windows live essentials 2012 update.  Now windows live mail won't connect with Comcast servers.  What's changed?  Do I need to use different ports? different account settings?

I have windows 8.1 and windows live essentials 2012. Recently when I go into windows live it stops responding. I cannot click on any of the inbox, sent etc etc and I have to use task manager to close it down. This is happening continuously. I have uninstalled it 3 times and reinstalled 3 times. This doesn't help. Can I download an older version of windows live mail to get a better result or can anybody please help. I don't need messenger movie maker etc - just email which works!!

I have Windows 8, my windows live mail works fine for approx. 2 weeks then stops receiving emails but I can still send them. Usually after about 7 days it starts receiving again! Any suggestions....

I can not use messenger windows live 2012 or outlook messenger.
Skype can not connect mit my microsft account I DONT HAVE MORE WINDOWWS 8.
Nothing wors, and microsoft and skype and outlook allways say on internet things that never worked or impossible
to program.

Cannot install Windows Live Essentials 2012 – Error 0x80040c2a

I installed on my desktop and noticed the version was different on my laptop. so uninstalled on the laptop.  Have made several attempts to install and never got as far as being able to select which items I wanted to install.

 

This is Windows 7 Pro x64, it's my work laptop so I can't go do Windows Update with it, but I couldn't when I installed the previous version.  It's almost up-to-date with Windows updates.

 

There wasn't a Windows Live folder in c:\program files, or c:\program files\common files, I did remove the various Windows Live folders in the appdata folder.

 

The error was 0x80040c2a 'WaitForCatalog'.  No problems downloading other things this morning - Internet seems quite zippy.

 

Frustrated, off to see if an altenative IMAP client exists.

So i installed skype and windows live and then 3 days later my messenger contacts have completely disappeared, but they still remain in Hotmail. and people.live.com and i just want to know how to get them back..

i was downloading some programs that would help me to clear junk in my computer and after installing and stuff i went to messenger and i couldnt send messages and could not see messages sent to me too. all i saw was a really long code in the typing box..and everything else was fine except alll those< i've tried re-installing windows live essentials 2012 but the same problem occured. help please? desperately needing help.
