Windows Live Mail FAQ
Hi,
Opened my windows live mail account today as normal. Everything as it should be but all my contact have disappeared. Any ideas?
I have FIVE Yahoo Business email accounts, and I need to import all emails from all accounts, including my contacts, into my new Windows Live Mail account. I have poured over pages and pages of support info, and cannot seem to find one word about this. I even contacted Outlook.com tech support, and he is the one that told me I had to do it with Windows Live instead of Outlook. When I created a Live mail account, and tried to start the export/import process, I found that I could only do it with Outlook Express, Live mail, or Windows mail.
I am only doing Windows Live mail because I can't do it with GMail/Fetch, or any other provider. Someone has GOT to know how I can get around all this hassle. I've been doing this for hours and I'm still not getting anywhere!!
Please help. I cant get or send my emails from my Windows live mail account. Extremely frustrating, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt. This is the full error message I receive;
Iv turned off the email scan as per advice from other posts. But why can't I connect to the server?
Thanks
This is the third time I'm writing to get help with fixing the error that is preventing me from receiving or sending email from my Windows Live Mail account and no one has answered. I reported the same problem in Sept. and following the steps to add accounts and it worked for a while. Now, I've repeated those same steps without any luck. Can someone please tell me how to fix this problem?
Is Windows Live Mail still a viable product or does Microsoft want users to move to Outlook.com? The problem with Outlook.com is that it does not allow me to open it without opening my browser, scroll through my entire inbox and doesn't have a complete editing toolbar. that's why I'd like to fix Live Mail and continue using it.
I am unable to send out an email by typing in the Category name.
Also the + plus sign to expand the email list inside the TO: box does not work.
Help!
Update: I found some advice to Sign Out of my Windows Live Mail account, and then Sign In again (which required my email password). This appears to have restored by Category mailing function.
> What would be nice to know is why Signing Out and Signing In clears this. Maybe the Help Desk could elaborate.
Hi everyone
Please can anyone help
Had my Windows Live Mail account for some time and have been logging in to my email daily until yesterday. It suddenly decided not to accept my password. Tried over and over to reset password but can't always tell if the character letters are upper or lower case. Tried to logon to my microsoft account to be told my microsoft account doesn't exist. Tells me to enter a different email address or get a new account. When I click on get new account button and fill in the form for a new account it the tells me my email address isn't available. I have created a new account with a different email, but I need to use my 1st email address for my contacts and calendar.
