Hi. I have a problem with windows live movie maker 2011 and my computer is windows 7. For a very long time the movie maker have worked very well but lately when I import videos to make movies out of them, I see th visual but no voice ( not for all videos just for some of them). I've thought that maybe it is because of the video when I first observed this problem, but then I've tried a lot more and this problem seems to be increasing. I've read some comments about it, they say it is because of the codecs of video's own and I should delete those codecs. But I don't know how to do that because they were talking about movie maker 2012 and mine was windows live 2011.
I would be very pleased if there is someone to have a solution to this problem.
( Plus: In the options of movie maker there is no sound section or filters section for codecs I don't know where to find those codecs.)
I had a problem with Windows Live Movie Maker (started sometime in the past 4 days) that made it so I could not upload videos to YouTube. When I tried, it would say: Error: 0x80004005. I then decided to re-install the program. I deleted the program, the downloaded it off the Microsoft website. The download client said that a few programs did not install properly, including Windows Live Movie Maker. An installation details window came up and said: Windows essentials did not install properly. I clicked the 'Try Again' option, but the same thing happened. What should I do to fix Windows Live Movie Maker?
I wanted to slow down movie footage, but the version of windows live movie maker I had did not have that option, in spite of the fact that the super old 2.6 version did. However, I was told by this website that if I updated my current version, I would be able to slow down and speed up video. So I checked my computers specs, all of which met the minimum requirements, and installed a new version off of the microsoft website. However, upon
trying to use the new version, I was prompted with an error that said;
"Sorry, Movie Maker can't start. Make sure your computer meets the minimum system requirements before trying to start Movie Maker again, and then try to update the driver of your video card is Movie Maker still doesn't start.
It then prompts me to this page;
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/Windows-Live/movie-maker-system-requirements-ui
It also has a "learn more" button which simply opens up the site search and punches in "movie maker" for me.
This website told me I needed to install this, this website told me I had the minimum requirements. It's like asking someone to fix your car, hearing them say they can, only to have them break your headlights and windows.
I'd like to either know how to resolve this problem or how to get my old version back. The version I had wasn't 2.6; it came with my windows 7 computer. If I used recovery media I'd get it back, but that would be an enormous waste of time. As for trying to fix whatever problems I have now as a means of using the newest windows live movie maker, there was a link on the first page I posted about updating my graphics card;
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2741355/en-us
this page prompts me with the message;
"You cannot start Windows Movie Maker 2012 when a graphics card that supports DirectX 9 is installed on a Windows 7 computer."
I'm running DirectX 11, and before updating movie maker, I could edit video just fine. I am yet to find a way to fix this of regain the previous version I have.
Also, it would be really nice if your website could read it's own forum codes. I posted this and got a lot of < br/ >'s all over the place. To boot, when you highlight text and press the backspace key to delete it, it also deletes the first character before that text.
I have Windows 7, Home edition. My Windows Live Movie Maker was working fine until recently. The movie clips would take about 5 seconds to load into movie maker and then it would skip (be choppy) during playback of those clips. To rectify this I searched the web where suggestions to reload Movie Make seemed logical. So I went to Microsoft Website (windows.microsoft.com/en-nz/windows-live/movie-maker#t1=overview) and downloaded Movie Maker from the Essentials package.
However, there is now no Movie Maker (nor Photo Gallery) on my PC anymore (the old one was automatically deleted). Where there used to a film role icon for Movie Maker there is now a blank page icon in its place. I have restarted the PC several times. I tried downloading again, but the download options tell me that it is already loaded - but it hasn't.
How do I get Movie Maker back please?
