I'm currently using Windows Live Movie Maker for windows vista to produce a film for a project but when I add movies/videos only 7 seconds of it appears and it is all black. I have previously used WLMM in January and it worked fine. My file types are all .AVI which is what I used in January so I don't think that there should be a problem there? Also none of the videos are extremely high quality or have a long duration. I also tried to place some of the footage I used back in January to see if that would play and it didn't. It seems to be rejecting all of my files even if they previously worked only 2 months ago. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

First time using WLMM. Created a video, then saved using the "Recommended for this project" option under "Save movie" dropdown.  A .wmv file was created (very slowly, I might add, but maybe that's normal), which plays fine in Windows Media player.  But, I can't get it to load into WLMM so I can make updates. WLMM says the file is corrupted or in a format it doesn't recognize (even though WLMM is the app that created that file). So, two questions: 1) Did I do something wrong when I saved the file (if so, what should I have done)? and 2) is there any way to bring the .wmv file into WLMM so it can be edited?

I am using windows movie 2009 on windows7 Professional.

When I add a video (mpg) I get the following message:

Windows live movie maker has stopped working.

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.

Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

Never received a solution can anyone help.

How can I save the slow motion effect that i added to the video? When I save it and open it in Windows LIVE Movie Maker, the slow motion does not appear.

When I install it, it says that there is an error. It says that only Adminstrators can install, uninstall, or repair Windows Essential programs on this computer. The Get Help link told to me to change my user account to an Adminstrator but my account is already an Adminstrator. I downloaded it again many times and I am still getting the same error message.

So, okay. I tried to download an installer of Windows Live Movie Maker but everytime it finishes installing, it will always show something like this.

Can you suggest something that I could do? I'm sorry I'm not that tech savvy, so please. BTW, I'm using Windows 8 64-bit. :) Thank you!

OK, so I make a project with about twenty .JPG files and two .wav audio files. It lasts about four seconds. When I'm done I click "Save Movie" and I export it as a .wmv file. There are no error messages during editing or exporting. It says my movie has been saved successfully but when I try and watch it with Windows Media Player, it can't play the file and I get an error. I've also tried to save my movie as an .mp4 file, and I get the same error.

My OS is Windows 7 32-bit.

I have a DVD that was made using Windows Live Movie Maker.  How do I convert this back into individual photos?  I have no backup files of this and don't want to ruin the movie but would rather have photos for editing.  Windows Vista
