I am working on my first Windows Live Movie Maker slide show and I am having 2 problems with images loaded to my slide show and 1 problem with the audio.

1) Some photo's which are perfectly fine, become very blurred and out of focus when added to M/Maker.  I have tried deleting and re-loading them but the fault  is repeated.  The fault appears to be random because other images of identical specification and quality, taken on the same camera at the same time and loaded into my computer at the same time are perfectly sharp in M/Maker.

2)  The clock for setting length of display of individual images seems to be appears to be very inaccurate, as much as 3 seconds out over a period of 10 seconds.  This makes it extremely difficult to cue images and sound together. I realise M/Maker is a very basic programme, however, I think these are very basic problems which should not be happening, so am I doing something wrong or is there a fault with the programme or my computer?

3) Audio - I am using a wav file of one song as the audio track for the slide show and at times it is very stuttery.  The file plays fine on my computer.

I have gone through the repair and re-install process and the faults remain unaltered.

I am working with the Widows 7 O.S.

All and any suggestions to correct these problems would be welcome.

Hi everyone.

So, I spent a good 3 hours working on a video, and then I went to bed. (I had saved the video along each step of the way. No problems.)
I woke up this morning and went to watch it again, and I wanted to make a few minor changes. I was editing a clip (trying to split it) when everything but the clip went white and WLMM froze. I thought I'd save my project and reopen the program. But, when I reopened WLMM and tried to open my project, it said that it can't open the file because it "may not be compatible with Movie Maker or be corrupted." Is there any way I can fix this??? I spent a really long time on this video and it wasn't giving me any problems until now. I just really want to get my video back.

Thank you so much,
Rachael

Dear all,

I recently uploaded the Windows Live Movie Maker 2012 which wiped my old version. My computer does not have the spec to run Windows Live Movie Maker 2012 and so I want to return to the 2009 version.

I have googled it, but cannot find any usable links.

Any help would be gratefully received!

Thank you,

L

I have Windows 8.1 on a Lenovo Ideapad Yoga 13 with an intel corei7.  Windows Media Player plays all my .mp3 files and .wma files fine.  However, after importing .mp3 or .wma files into windows live movie maker 2012, I cannot hear the audio.  I imported 6 pictures and an .mp3 file and created a movie and then tried to play it using Windows Media Player.  The audio played fine in the completed file in Windows Media Player, so the issue seems to be with Windows Live Movie Maker.  Does anyone know what the solution to this problem is?

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Windows Live Movie Maker and that did not help.  I made sure that I had all critical windows updates installed also.  There are 4 optional updates that I have not installed (Silver Light, 8.1 system update, Bing desktop and bing search bar).  I doubt these will change my audio issue in Windows Movie Maker 2012.

Do you know of something I could try?

HERE IS MY STORY:

My last computer had Windows 7 on it and it came with both Windows Live Movie Maker and Windows DVD Maker.  Back then everything worked great. I was able to burn my movies that I created in Windows Live Movie Maker to DVD and they looked and played normal on my TV.

Now I have a computer that has Windows 8. Windows Live Movie Maker came with it but I had to purchase Windows DVD Maker.

Here is what I did:
I added my file to Windows DVD Maker.
I clicked on preview and it looked normal.
I inserted the blank DVD.
I clicked on start and it burned the DVD.
I put it in my DVD player to play it on my TV and it looks very distorted. It does not look like me. Also the picture does not fill my screen.

Also these same videos I posted to Youtube look normal. I just haven't been able to burn them to a DVD.

I have repeatedly sent emails to support and nobody will answer me and acknowledge my problem. It has been three months and I can't do anything. Can someone out there give me some help. Thank you.

Hello,

I have used Windows Live Movie Maker for some time, and it has worked pretty well, except for the crashing that happens sometimes. I find it works better if I save my work and close it from time to time. However, despite this, I have a desire for more features. I learned about Movie Maker 2.6 and the add-ons that can be added to it, and find that people tend to like the older versions of movie maker. I downloaded Movie Maker 2.6 from the website, but the preview screen upon the right was completely black except for telling what effect was to happen, and the bottom panel with (including) the buttons. I then downloaded Movie Maker 6.0, but it is not on the Microsoft Website for download. Does Microsoft support one being able to download Movie Maker 6.0? I have found the link on this site (multiple times), and at least 3 people with the Microsoft "banner" have given this the okay in some way. I want to make sure that this is legal, because at least once the way the okay was given was in a way that one could download Movie Maker 6.0, but Microsoft does not really support.

Thank-you in advance.

I was working on my video (been working on it for countless hours), until my computer suddenly crashed. As soon as I went back on, my file wasn't able to open and the error message was:
'Sorry, Movie Maker can't open this project file. The file might not be compatible with Windows Live Movie Maker or be corrupted. Please select a different project file.'
That's the error I got, and I'm quite certain that this means its corrupted.
Is there a way I can fix it?
Can I contact someone?

I made a movie slide show using Windows Live Movie Maker.  I had edited some of the photos, using Windows Live Photo Gallery,  before including in the movie---and I notice that with each playing of the movie, some of these photos enlarge so that I am losing the tops and bottoms of the pictures.  How can I prevent this?

Also--how can I learn more about the size of original and cropped photos in general---seem to have a lot  of variation and I don't understand all factors involved.
