I use it to edit videos captured with Fraps and Nvidia Shadowplay, but whenever I try to play the preview not only is there no sound, but all audio that my entire computer was playing cuts out, and I have to restart my computer to be able to hear audio from any source.
I made a movie 'project' using the 2011 version of Windows Live Movie Maker, then when I upgraded to Windows Essentials, Movie Maker - I cannot copy splits that I created in this movie... In the old version of WL Movie Maker, I could put the start point and end point, copy that clip and create a new movie of that clip - this way I could create the separate videos for each of the typed questions that I need for Survey Monkey.

How can I do the same thing in the new version of Movie Maker?

HELP PLEASE!!
Ok, so i just spent hours editing a video and have just finished saving the movie.
Luckily I did.
When i watched the video, all the audio was out of sync, the video was a few seconds behind the actual voices.
I'm not extreamly tech savvy and would really appreciate any help.
I have no clue what version im running however when i look at the properties it tells me it was created in 2011.

Hello, I am Astelin and I am reporting an issue I excessively keep coming in to on Windows Live Movie Maker. Now, If there is anything I need to do I can, I am not dumb with computers I have a lot of knowledge with them. The image above is telling you my issue. The AVI file is compatible with the program because I have used AVI files before the error you can see. When I insert this file that is corrupted.. it turns half of the other clips into black screens as well. The "How do I fix this problem" link don't help... It does not give me my info It shows up as corrupted when it is in place and everything works okay and I haven't modified any of the files in anyway. This error popup I guess is giving me the wrong info. Thanks for reading this thread I hope you can help me.

Hi,

I have read through other posts on this question but I have not been able to resolve. I am running Windows 7 and Movie Maker 2012. When I try to import a video (.vob) or open previously created project, the application stops working. I have checked the Event Log and found that the error appears to be related to the ntdll.dll file.

Faulting application name: MovieMaker.exe, version: 16.4.3508.205, time stamp: 0x5111fa77

I have tried uninstalling and reinstlling Windows Essentials. I have deleted and reinstalled the Windows Silverlight because that was suggested on another site. I have set the compatibility in Properties to Windows Vista, because that was also suggested.

If the issue is the ntdll.dll file, what is the easiest way to replace this file? I also ran the System Checker and it found no problems with system files.

Any more suggestions?

Thanks.

Tim
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, PLEASE STOP PLAYING MY VIDEOS WITH NO SOUND!!!

I used to edit movies with Windows Live Movie Maker but now the videos don't play with sound. They all play fine in Windows Media Player and all other media players I have on my computer.

Tried closing and reopening it a few times, uninstalling and reinstalling it, searched the problem online, and nothing works! The videos are .MOV and .AVI files. I have WLMM 2012 on Windows 8.1.

I can no longer publish videos on YouTube because of this OBTRUSIVE problem! MICROSOFT, IF YOU WANT TO KEEP MAKING MONEY FIX THIS MAYHEM!

So, I am uploading a guitar cover to YouTube but I'm not able to do it because I am stuck editing in Windows Live Movie Maker. The problem I am having is the timing of the audio. Perhaps I am doing it incorrectly or maybe I am not patient enough, but, I feel as if something is incorrect. For example, My video starts and the audio starts at the same time. After I save the movie, the audio gets out of sync. Per say, The guitar in the song starts at 0.30 seconds and in my video, it starts at 0.32 seconds. Every time I change the meter, it goes out of sync like crazy and nothing makes sense after it. AND, when I got the audio PERFECTLY in sync and saved afterwards, it went out of sync completely when I tried playing the video to see how it turned out. Help? Thanks in advance!!

Hello :)    I bought a new computer with Windows 8.     The latest version of the Windows Live Movie Maker has changed and it's difficult to edit the type of videos I make.

My last computer had Windows Vista on it and I started making my movies in 2010 with whatever version was available at the time.     Several years later I noticed Movie Maker upgraded.  I had more fonts available and a few other options.

I tried to uninstall the Windows 8 version of Movie Maker and I installed an older version of Movie Maker and it had just the basic fonts.  None of the extra fonts, that appeared when I upgraded on Windows Vista, were on this older version.   How do I get the Windows Live Movie Maker that came out in 2010 - 2012 w/ the extra fonts ?      Sry, I don't know the versions and I hope this makes sense but can anyone help me ?

Thank u,

RC

Need help fast! I uploaded and made a series of videos without realising the sound wasn't working on the clips I was using, and managed to fix the sound issue on the original clips, but if I go to re-upload them to re-make the videos with sound this time they stay without sound, because they have already been 'analysed' once by MM and it 'knows' them. How can I re-upload my clips and make them work with sound? (You know when you use a clip for the first time it prepares the video for playback quality before you can play it, basically I need to get it to do that again to all the ones it has already done.)

I hope I explained that okay...I am using Windows Live Movie Maker on Windows 7 Starter, and the video has to be done before Tuesday. Any help would be much appreciated!

When I try to directly upload a video to YT from WLMM I always get the following error message.
"An unknown error has occurred. Please try again."
I also cannot upload wmv. Format movies to YouTube through their website either

My system
Windows 7 64 bit
Microsoft Security Essentials

Thanks

PS I have read all the other threads on the subject and tried
Updating NET
Checking codecs
Repairing my Windows Live programs
Ran all Windows updates through control panel

still no success. and I am unable to upload movies to YouTube at all even through their website.
